Training Initiatives to the Productive Industries

The Secretary of Education of the Mayor’s Office created the
“Universidad a tu Barrio” project, which provides opportunities to low
income young people to study higher education carreers.

The Higher Education Centers – CEDIES (Spanish abbreviation)
objective is to guarantee the progressive training of 10,000 young
students every year who are finishising their high school period. The
courses are flexible, and for free.
•
The CEDIES are established in 23 high schools venues, and carreers
related to technology, port logistics, tourism, accounting and/or
business areas, are included in this program.
