THF’s Be A Ballplayer Philosophy When establishing the creed for Asia’s cutting-edge, most elite baseball training facility, THF aligned with legendary college baseball coach Augie
Garrido, winner of 5 NCAA National Championships and the winningest coach in NCAA sports history. Coach Garrido’s book, ‘Life is Yours to
Win: Lessons Forged from the Purpose, Passion, and Magic of Baseball’’, highlights his quest as a coach to find not just prospects on the field, but
ballplayers. A ballplayer, as THF and Coach Garrido define, is someone who epitomizes the following principles.
BE UNCOMMON
In your commitment to the team
In the gym and on the practice field
In your pursuit of knowledge and desire to grow
In your preparation to perform
In your ability to perform under pressure BUY IN TO THE PROCESS
Be Coachable
Find satisfaction in selflessness
Be relentless in your commitment to self-improvement Find humility in success and confidence in failure Be a ferocious competitor
PLAY WITHOUT FEAR
Love the game you are playing Believe in your teammates and yourself Appreciate that failure is not always what it seems Fight to focus on the process…not the result
Be decisive and willing to live with the outcome
3

The Facility & Fields The Hit Factory’s indoor training facility is located in Woodlands Centre, just 1km from the Singapore American School. It features
a full-size indoor 60-foot turf diamond and state-of-the-art equipment, including Iron Mike, MP-4 and BATA 3 pitching machines for
both baseball and softball, pitching mounds for kids and adults, MLB training tools and radar guns, Speed and Agility full workout
stations, as well as a MLB video analysis system for pitching and hitting, with integrated professional player comparisons.
THF’s outdoor training facilities are located at UWC Dover and Kallang Diamonds. The outdoor training and game schedule will
run currently with the indoor schedule for a total of 40 weeks. Each Club Team has outdoor practices or games every weekend, and
the fields will be fully equipped with pithing machines, mounds, bases, and protective screens. THF’s partnership with these venues
provide our players with world-class outdoor training to compliment our fully weatherproofed indoor facility. The 40 week schedule
will be broken down as follows: A 25 week game schedule will be provided to all players at the start of the training season. Each
respective age group will be split into two teams each month and will face each other in a competitive format over the course of the 25
week period. The remaining 15 weeks of the 40 week outdoor program will be devoted to outdoor training and team instruction with
our professional coaching staff. All of these outdoor games and practices ARE INCLUDED in your club team fees!

Professional Instruction THF has a full-time American and Japanese professional coaching staff with playing NCAA and MLB experience. THF’s
Director of Operations, Owen Reid, played NCAA Division-I baseball at Baylor and Winthrop Universities, and has spent
the last 6 years working in player development overseas, both with local clubs and organizations and MLB International.
Owen oversees all programs, which are facilitated by a coaching staff with more than 50 years of combined collegiate and
professional experience on four continents.
THF’s Professional Coaching Staff has been trained by some of the most renowned baseball minds, including legendary
college baseball coach, Augie Garrido. THF’s structured 9-month training curriculum combined with the 7:1 player-tocoach ratio at all sessions makes for an upbeat atmosphere conducive for development. Personalized learning concepts
ensure that all players progress at their own pace. All of THF’s sessions finish with a ‘Joke of the Day’, which provides
players with an opportunity to practice their public speaking skills. The players love it, and it finishes the day on a fun and
positive note!

Club Team Overview THF’s Club Team program features 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and H.S. baseball teams and 10U and 15U girls softball teams. During the course of
the 9-month Club Team program (September 1st – May 31st), all Club Teams will train a total of 6 hours per week (2 indoor practices & 1
outdoor practice or game) at THF’s facility and outdoor fields. Each team will play in numerous international and local tournaments, as well as
scrimmages and friendly games against local clubs in Singapore.
THF’s facility practices will never be cancelled due to rain or lightning, as these scheduled practices will take place indoors. Each THF team will
have weekly outdoor practices or games at UWC Dover and Kallang Diamonds. These outdoor practices and games will allow players to
participate in baseball-specific drills, exercises, and competitive games, which are difficult to replicate indoors. These outdoor activities will be
held on Saturdays and Sundays, based on each players’ age division. THF’s teams will have full use of batting cages, pitching machines, bases,
backstops and pitching mounds. THF’s professional coaching staff will oversee all outdoor games and practices.
THF’s professional coaches will manage daily practices while preparing the teams for competitive tournament play. All of THF’s Club Teams
will follow the targeted 9-month training program, as this develops the continuity and family atmosphere THF values and is known for. THF’s
instructors, through personalized learning concepts, adhere to unified training standards to maximize personal and player development.
8
Travel Tours, Tournaments & Trips THF will be providing numerous tournament opportunities during the course of 2015/2016 season. It is each player’s choice on
which tournaments he/she would like to participate. Players are not required to participate in a minimum number of tournaments,
nor are they restricted to a maximum amount. If there is a critical mass (minimum 9 players) for a respective tournament, THF will
enter a team for competition. In situations where a second THF team is allowed, one will be formed if there is enough demand at the
specific age group. Throughout the season, THF will participate in both ‘fun’ and ‘competitive’ tournaments.
Prior to the announcement of the tournament, THF will convey to age-eligible players, and their parents, what type of tournament it
will be. Rosters for ‘fun’ tournaments will be formed based on a “first come, first serve” basis. Rosters for ‘competitive’ tournaments
will be formed with the players that make up the most competitive team, as determined by the THF Professional Coaching Staff.
THF has a very high “benchmark” for all tournaments on offer. Premium fields, diverse competition, unique cultural destinations
and best value-for-money are all considered when determining the Club Team tournament lineup. There are numerous tournaments
to which we decline invitations, as they do not meet the THF Club Team standards for a program that we feel is the ultimate baseball
experience in Asia.
THF players and their families get to travel throughout the world to visit and experience some incredible destinations! THF
encourages all families to participate in as many tournaments as their work schedules and budgets can accommodate. Many of THF’s
families use the tournament destinations as “family vacations” as there is often free time to sightsee, enjoy great meals, and embrace
the local cultures. THF’s Travel Coordinator oversees and arranges all travel logistics for THF players and their families. This
includes flights, hotels, local tours, and transportation to and from the fields. THF prefers all players to sleep in the same
accommodations, as it makes the transportation to the fields seamless, allows for easy cultural excursions and maximizes the bonding
experience among teammates. For all tournaments, THF’s professional coaches travel with the team(s). THF’s coaches’ travel costs
(flights, accommodation) are divided amongst participating players.
School is obviously the most important factor in determining THF’s tournament schedule. THF rarely needs to request missed
school days for tournament excursions, but on occasion this will happen. THF does its best to mitigate this as much as possible, but
sometimes in order to meet the scheduled dates of the tournament, a day of school will need to be missed.
9
Travel Tours, Tournaments & Trips Memories from Australia, Japan, Singapore, Italy, Indonesia, Dubai and China
10
Team Selection & Roster Spots THF welcomes all players – beginner, intermediate or advanced – to participate in its Club Team program. All of THF’s programs
are co-ed, and the age cutoff for each team is May 1st. For example, for the 12U team, if a player turns 13 after May 1st, we encourage
him/her to join the 12U Club Team. Younger players are allowed to “play up”, and such a decision is made on a case-by-case basis by
the THF Professional Coaching Staff. Factors such as skill level, player safety and maturity are always considered.
Criteria for a player’s selection on a tournament roster will be based on talent, commitment, work ethic, coach-ability and attitude.
THF’s ‘Be A Ballplayer’ philosophy epitomizes the ultimate team player; a player who puts the team before his/herself. THF
appreciates that everyone plays the game for different reasons, and the Professional Coaching Staff recognizes those who want to play
recreationally and those choose to play competitively. As such, rosters are selected accordingly for the ‘fun’ and ‘competitive’
tournaments in which THF participates.
THF recognizes there are other sports, school demands and personal commitments that compete for players’ time. THF does not
mandate that Club Team players cannot participate in other baseball programs or sports, but it is highly encouraged that Club Team
players attend as many practices and team-related activities (including travel tournaments) as possible, as players’ regular attendance
promotes team bonding, camaraderie and the family atmosphere THF encourages and values.
11
2015-16 Tournament Schedule THF’s tournament schedule is based on commitments from tournament coordinators.
Although dates are subject to change, THF’s Professional Coaching Staff conveys any such
changes as promptly as possible, so participating players and/or families can make any
necessary arrangements.
