Installation of a adhesive
KTA frame
1
These instructions give you
details of how to assemble
frames at right-angles directly
by gluing to a surface that is
rigid, flat and smooth such as
natural or lacquered aluminium,
lacquered Gel Coat, Alucobond,
glass ...
The adhesive section can of
course be applied to other
supports but we always
recommend carrying out tests
first.
Under no circumstances can
it be applied to the following
surfaces:
• Polyamide (PA),
• Polyethylene (PE),
• Polyacethal (POM),
• Polypropylene (PP),
• Polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE),
• Silicones.
For any special use, we invite
you therefore, to contact our

PREPARING THE SURFACES
When cleaning is possible, use ScotchBriteTM PURPLE to slightly abrade the
support to give the best adhesion.
- In all cases, clean the support
using isopropyl alcohol.
If cleaning is not possible, 3M
recommends using wipes impregnated
with an adhesive “primer”. This
“delustres” the medium and gives the
adhesive a better hold.
Gluing surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust.

INSTALLING THE SECTION
- Heat the support using a heat gun.
Heat enough but gently so as not to burn the support
Remove the protective strip from the
section and apply the adhesive KTA,
exerting strong uniform pressure.
Position the section correctly right from the start
because gluing is instantaneous !
Pressure to be exerted is 2 kg/cm2.
To accentuate and distribute pressure uniformly*
during gluing, use manual pressure.
* (use a piece of KTA, turning it over and applying it
to the section to be fixed).
To accentuate and distribute pressure uniformly
during gluing, use strong manual pressure*.
* Use the special tool to fit into the KTA profile
distributing ideally the exerted pressure.
- The profile has absolutely to be glued uniformly on all its back!
It is important to check the gluing on all its length and to correct
the eventual defects with a strong pressure using again the heat gun
avoiding softening the glue.

VERY IMPORTANT: WAIT BEFORE INSTALLING THE FABRIC
Minimal
36h
In normal conditions, at ambient temperature (23°C), performance of the
product’s adhesive reaches 90% after 24 hours. 72 hours are required to reach 100%.
To reduce this time of 24 hours, the materials can be heated while maintaining uniform pressure.
It is important to wait 36 hours at least before stretching the banner.
The adhesive performance of this product is only guaranteed in the context
of a minimum ambient temperature of 16°C during installation.

Using a flat screw driver or scissors, raise one end of the section with a levering action.
Repeat the same operation for the whole length to be lifted.
To remove any marks left by the VHB adhesive, use a spatula or a sharp knife
to peel off the residue.
Installing and tensioning
the fabric
1 • INSERTING THE FABRIC
Installing and tensioning the
fabric are central to the CRYSTAL
system. It is for this reason that the
method of assembly summarized
below should be followed to
the letter. It is also essential to
use the tools recommended and
chosen by ISERMATIC.
*1 • FASTENERS
The fasteners are pieces of facing
about
b
10 cm llong, cut with
ih a
bevel to avoid piercing the fabric
during positioning.
Your fabric must be larger than
your frame by about 10 cm all
round..
Install the positioning and pretensioning fasteners on the top part.
Repeat the same operation on the
bottom and sides, exerting moderate
pressure on the fabric.
Grip the fabric by engaging the
outside facing to start with.

Now fix and tension the fabric by
installing the facing, following the same
order as the fasteners were inserted.
Remove the fasteners as you proceed (see
video on the web site).

4 • TENSIONING THE FABRIC
Using the anti-rebound mallet,
drive in the facing to create the
tension until it finally clips.
Thanks to the mechanical effect
of the facing installation principle,
the fabric stretches automatically
for a perfect fit.
5 • TRIMMING THE FABRIC
Once the fabric has been
tightened correctly and the corner
cuts made, excess fabric should
be removed using a sharp knife,
generally along the outside edge
of the facing strip.
