On Sunday, December 8th, Compassionate Friends will sponsor its annual worldwide commemorative service for parents who have experienced the death of a child. Our Lady of Good Counsel parish
in Southampton will participate by holding a candlelight Vesper service at 7:00 PM in the upper
church. The service lasts about 20 minutes and includes prayer, scripture readings and moments of
reflection.
If you and/or a friend are interested in attending, please plan on arriving about ten minutes before the
service begins so that you will have the time to set up a candle in memory of the deceased child. Participants are encouraged to bring along a candle, as well as a photograph and/or other memento of the
child, which will be set up behind the candle during the service.

13 YEARS
YOUTH MINISTRY TURKEY DRIVE
God is so Good! The amount of Turkeys and all its fixins were in great abundance this year. We would
like to send a special thank you to the parishioners who donated a Turkey dinner for a needy family and to
those who gave a monetary donation. The donated Turkey meals were delivered to St. Helenas at 5th &
Godfrey, & St. Williams on Rising Sun Avenue. The recipients of the meals are notified by letter and are
from various neighborhoods/Parishes. Each year the hearts of so many continue to give to those who really
need our help. O.L.G.C. is an awesome and giving Parish!!!
We would also like to express a huge thank you to the following volunteers and businesses that helped
make this Turkey Drive a huge success: OLGC Youth Ministry Group(they did an awesome job, AGAIN),
Southampton & Warminster Giant, FTS Flooring, & Nick's Pizza.
An extra and well deserved Thank you goes to the volunteers who drove into the city and distributed all
the donations. It is a very humbling experience for those who volunteer: John & Conor Lynskey, Angela
Venit, Dan Johnston, Jordan, Christian, & Jada Francis, Kevin Foster, Jackson Foster, Liam Grover, Nick
Simon, Pat Bolton, & Craig Tindell. Special thanks to Jim Francis for his assistance to Youth Ministry and
for driving the rental truck.
May God Bless you all for sharing your
time and kind hearts to give others a
Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving.
Let us come into his presence with
thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise
to him with songs of praise! Psalm 95:2
