ship of the same name, from its construction to its tragic sinking in 1914,
which killed 1012 people. Participate in an audio-guided tour of the
Onondaga submarine to find out about the daily lives of submariners.

Perched on a cliff next to a cape in the shape of a cat, this light-
4 house, which is still operational, is surrounded by trails leading
to the sea. Learn about the history of local lighthouses and their keepers by
reading the interpretive panels. The Cap-Chat park also offers labyrinths, a
scavenger hunt that focuses on the history and legends of this site, and a
treetop adventure course.
Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club. This site depicts the lives of the first
English-speaking settlers to come to this area in the 18th century.
Returned home from Québec City in 1997, this lighthouse sits on the
site of the first maritime radio station in North America, which was
declared a national historic event in 2011. Tour the lighthouse and the wireless telegraphy building to learn about early methods of communication
(Marconi and the Story of Radio Communications) and local history (Fame
Point: As Time Goes By).

LA MARTRE
Visit a lighthouse with a unique wooden structure that has been in
operation since 1906. The original timing system still controls the light
as it rotates in its pool of mercury. From the tower balcony, enjoy the strong
winds and romantic setting. A permanent exhibit in the foghorn shed
introduces you to the expertise involved in designing lighthouse lanterns,
from the 1700s to today.
CAP-DES-ROSIERS
Accompanied by a guide, climb to the top of Canada’s tallest
lighthouse, which has been standing on this site for over 150 years.
During your ascent, learn about the history and workings of this 37-metre
(121-foot) tower.

CAP-GASPÉ
Near the lighthouse, read the interpretive panels to learn about the
navigational aids used at Cap-Gaspé. Compared to other lighthouses, this
one is rather small: it is the height of the cape that makes it visible from afar.

northern gannets and whales. In the foghorn shed, learn about the paper
mill era (1925) and more. Don’t miss the week of activities at the lighthouse in
early August.
