WELCOME TO RAINE MAGAZINE
Wow! I can’t believe how far we’ve come. In 2007 we launched our very first issue. At the time, Raine was exclusively online and was
just a hobby of mine. After all, I had just had my fourth child and was preparing to open my first retail store; a hobby was all that I could
take on at that moment in time. Raine has grown into a print and digital magazine that also offers dynamic events where influencers can
network with decision makers. Since the very beginning, the focus has been on providing a platform to help creative entrepreneurs take
their passion to the next level.
Why start a magazine in a time of uncertainty, both in our economy and the publishing industry? You could say “ignorance is bliss.” Not
knowing any better, my only drive was to inspire as many creatives as possible, to find a way to turn their dreams into a viable business.
Launching my own career as an entrepreneur without any mentors was a difficult and lonely journey. Raine is a place where theseindividuals
can come and see that they are not alone and use the success stories of others to help them along their path.
This issue is special for the Raine team because it is our 25th Volume, and as a quarterly issue, it serves as a testament to our devotion to
creative entrepreneurs worldwide. If this is your first introduction to Raine, I want to share with you some Q & As from a recent interview.
Q: Who is Raine’s audience?
A: Creative entrepreneurs such as fashion designers, inventors, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, graphic designers, authors, freelancers,
producers, actors, singers, dancers, artists, etc. In summary, they are individuals making a living from a creative gift.
Q: What are the fears of creative entrepreneurs?
A: Some of the fears that plague this unique group include not being able to find a mentor to help them navigate the ups and downs of
entrepreneurship, not having enough outlets to network with the right people, and not understanding how to brand themselves or their
product. This is just a sampling of a list of issues that entrepreneurs come across.
Q: What is possible now that Raine Magazine is here?
A: I see Raine as a cross between Vogue and Fast Company–a more fashion forward, entrepreneurial-minded magazine. Raine appeals to
creative persons with a spirit to turn their passion into financial freedom. Raine offers a visually interesting journal of written imagery and
stories that inspire success.
This monumental 25th edition, offers singing sensation and X-Factor heartthrob, Carly Rose Sonenclar; our favorite celebutante from
the Kardashian clan, Kendall Jenner; Bollywood bombshell and the hardest working woman in India, Priyanka Chopra; FUBU co-founder,
inspirational speaker, and angel investor, Daymond John; and billionaire and serial entrepreneur, Mark Cuban to name a few. If that wasn’t
enough, we have carefully handpicked the most beautiful photo stories from our network of creative entrepreneurs , photos that will keep
you cheering for more.
The Raine team deeply thanks you for your support because without you, none of this would be possible.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
KENDALL

VOL 12
Is it an epidemic, a phenomenon, or a takeover?
Let’s just say it’s all of the above, simply put, it’s the age of the Jenner--Kardashian brand. Whether you’re Keeping Up with the Kardashians, popping
into one of their DASH retail stores, or smiling at adorable little North West’s epic
facial expressions, you simply can’t escape the pandemonium of pop culture’s
most talked-about family to date.
Raine Magazine first became acquainted with Jenner in 2012 as our cover
star and rising starlet stepping out of the shadows of her family pedigree. She was
by far the youngest of many future fashion icons that have graced the cover of Raine.
We quickly noticed her thirst for success and her determination to succeed in the
high-stakes arena of the fashion industry.
From a mere bud she has bloomed into a rose, capturing the attention of
some of the biggest names in fashion from New York to Milan and Paris with her
beauty and charismatic charm. She has reigned supreme on and off the runway for
Chanel, DKNY, Balmain, Oscar de la Renta, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, and
Pucci to name a few of the brands she’s worked with.
By 2014, the young glamazon was on everyone’s radar. Making her runway
debut during New York Fashion Week, she blew critics out of the water when
she opened the Marc Jacobs show. She looked like a mannequin with her
beautiful Kardashian hair now cut in a straight-edge bob, wearing matte makeup
and a combat uniform to boot. It was as if Jenner was saying, “Look at me,
world! I have arrived!” Many designers took notice of the rising beauty when,
during London Fashion Week, she walked for Giles Deacon, and later, in Paris,
for the crème de la crème of the industry, Chanel and Givenchy.
Since her runway debut, Jenner has been ruling the
modeling industry and has become one of the faces of
the “Instagirl” era, alongside Gigi and Bella Hadid, Haley
Baldwin, Jordan Dunn, Cara Delevingne, and Suki
Waterhouse. In 2014, capitalizing on Jenner’s 30 million
fans and followers, Estee Lauder tapped the mega-star
as their global face, a chance to reinvigorate the brand
with the throngs of young people who follow her with
a religious-like cult status. At 19, Jenner is sitting on
top of an empire at a time when most people her age
haven’t figured out the path their lives will take.
Her passion to push the envelope has created
a monument to evolution in an industry that is
rapidly changing. She has remained relevant,
unique and innovative and proven herself as
a force to be reckoned within the fashion

industry.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA
VOL 19
She is the quintessential triple threat: a Bollywood bombshell, an
actress, and a singer-songwriter with a heart of gold.
When we first met Priyanka Chopra, she was at the
top of her game, one of the hottest commodities to come out
of India. She speaks in the voice of an archangel, and not only
is she drop-dead gorgeous, but she devotes her time to helping
those less fortunate. As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador she
works tirelessly to protect the rights of children. She is also an
advocate for women’s issues and supports the right of young
women to have a quality education that is equal to that of their
male counterparts.
In spring 2014, Chopra was pegged as the star of Dr.
Dre’s nationwide Beats campaign. Her hit single, “I Can’t Make
You Love Me,” an up-tempo dance cover of the Bonnie Raitt
song, topped the charts at iTunes India within only 24 hours of its
official release. Chopra sat down with Raine in Volume 19 to give
us a better understanding of who she is, the brand she has built,
and her aspirations for the future.
Since her Kollywood debut in the film Thamizhan in
2002 (Kollywood is the cinema of Tamil Nadu, which produces
movies in the Tamil language. Kollywood is a joining of the words
Kodambakkam, the district in which the films are made, and
Hollywood.), Chopra has followed with success after success.
She starred in several other box office hits, including the films
The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003), Andaaz (2003), and Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi (Will You Marry Me?, 2004). Chopra’s ability to
win over viewers and achieve record-breaking ticket sales has
solidified her as a leading actress of Hindi cinema. Her efforts and
endless talent have not gone unnoticed. Numerous accolades
have been showered on her, including a National Film Award for
Best Actress and Filmfare Awards in four categories.
As the master of her own destiny, Chopra has let little
stand in her way, and she refuses to let herself be pigeon-holed
into any aspect of the entertainment industry. From movies to
television, she has slowly but surely transitioned into the American
market. Hosting the third season of Fear Factor was not enough
for this ambitious star. She has also created content for various
publications and has succeeded in giving a whole new meaning
During a time in which women are dominating leading
roles in television in series such as Empire and How to Get Away
with Murder, hot commodity Priyanka Chopra will be paving her
own way as a strong female lead. Her biggest break to date
will come this fall as she joins the ABC family in the hit series,
Quantico. This drama series explores the lives of young FBI
recruits who have come to the Quantico base in Virginia for 21
weeks of training to become special agents. Chopra plays an FBI
recruit-turned-possible terrorist, Alex Parrish. Quantico gives you
everything a good drama should: friendship, betrayal, conflict,
and suspense; trust us, you won’t be disappointed. Set your DVR,
folks, because Priyanka Chopra will be imprinted on all of our
brains this fall.
