After 34 editions and 3 years of organizing the
European Co-Production Market for genre films,
the BIFFF will organize the Brussels International Film
Market ( Genre Film & TV-series Market )
in April 2017.
The BIF Market – organized with the support
of the City of Brussels and the Brussels Capital Region
and with the participation of­
Screen.Brussels, Visit Brussels, “la Fédération
Wallonie-Bruxelles” – will, of course, focus on genre
cinema : Thriller, Fantasy, Science-Fiction, Horror, Gore,
Sword & Sorcery, Monster movies, Cult, Fairy Tales,
Surrealism…
You’ll be among dedicated professionals and aficionados
from independent genre to blockbusters in order to
discover and buy the latest genre gems of the year !
This kind of encounter can, of course,
only take place during an event dedicated
to the genres that we all love !
The BIFFF – in direct link with the Market – selects
more than 90 features from 5 continents ( of which
1/3 are World, International or European premieres )
and presents them in front of an enthusiastic and
knowledgeable audience and a jury of professionals !
Brussels is geared more and more towards cinema
and offers various services to different productions
( supports and logistics during shootings, … ) that,
added to numerous post and preproduction studios that
are spread across the European capital, make it more
and more attractive for the film industry !
If we add to this regional and federal support
mechanisms ( Tax Shelter, … ) and the presence of
one of the biggest genre film festivals in the world,
Brussels thus positions itself more and more as a
central hub for genre cinema.
Brussels is truly the capital of Fantasy and thanks to
Jaco Van Dormael’s The Brand New Testament we now
know that GOD lives in Brussels !
The BIFFF Market will take place
from 13 till 15 April 2017
at the Center for Fine Arts!
The accreditation fee is 100 €
