One of the most memorable productions for
Downey was a spring
concert featuring a Vegas
theme where the group
went through the years
and included songs by
Elvis Presley and Tom
Jones.
“It was a pretty big production,” she said.
“All the work that goes
on in those types of shows
and all the volunteer hours
is really impressive.”
Outside of their weekly rehearsals and performances, the group is
planning a trip to Europe
with performances in
Vienna and Salzburg during the Advent Festivals
this fall.
Members have been raising money for three years
for the trip and will spend
their free time enjoying a
Mozart concert and touring the cities.
Although the season has
now ended, the group is
recruiting new members
for the start of its next season in September.

Agricultural Service Board
Scholarship
The Agricultural Service Board
announces $5000 worth of scholarships
to be awarded summer 2015.
Scholarships will be awarded upon proof of postsecondary education registration and must be used
in the year awarded.
Criteria:
• Applicant must be a resident of the Municipal
District of Foothills No. 31 including the hamlets
of Blackie, Cayley, Aldersyde, Priddis, Millarville,
Heritage Pointe, Dewinton;
• Field of study must be at a recognized College of
Agriculture leading to a Degree in Agriculture or
Veterinary Medicine, or a School of Agriculture
leading to a Diploma. (Applicant is free to choose
field of study in Agriculture);
• Based on academic standing;
• Based on financial need;
• Applicant need not be a high school student but
must be attending school for agricultural or veterinary education with preference given to first year
students;
Selection Committee: The Agricultural Service Board
