Ahoy! Learn To Be
a
Privateer with Nosey Nell
A Unique Walking Tour & Experience
During the War of 1812, the famous Privateer Ship, Liverpool
Packet, scoured the coastline capturing enemy vessels. The
Queens County Museum's latest interactive and engaging
exhibit is the replica of this great Privateering Ship.
With the help of Nosey Nell, the Privateer, step on board the
Liverpool Packet and learn what life was like on the high seas.
Watch the cannon be readied to fire a warning shot across the
ship’s bow to an enemy ship (be prepared to cover your ears!)
And then, earn your Letter of Marque to become a famous
Privateer Captain like Liverpool’s Joseph Barss!
Costumed folklorist and storyteller Nosey Nell will then take you
on a guided and informative walk through the town to the site
of an actual Privateer skirmish. In case you’re a bit peckish,
you’ll also get to savour the taste of an authentic crew member's
cuisine of the time: hard tack and water. Come join in the fun.
Price: $15 per person or $30 per family
Place: Queens County Museum, Main Street, Liverpool
Length: 1.5 Hours minimum
Times: Friday 3 pm / Saturday 1 pm / Sunday 1 pm
Please come to the museum 15 minutes before
tour begins to purchase your ticket.
