Boddington District High School went very close to winning the recent
interschool Cross Country Championships at Kojonup, falling short by 4 points.
Congratulations to Evie, Oliver and Jarrad, who set race records in their
respective events and to our 9 and 12 year old boys who were equal, champion
year group.
The school received a number of compliments not only about the performance of our students, but also their
sportsmanship and the leadership displayed by our senior students. Thank you to the many parents who
attended on the day, your support and assistance is appreciated.
Football Development Officer
On Thursday the 9th of June 2016, Mr Mitchell Harvey, The Wheatbelt
Development Officer for Aussie Rules Football came to Boddington District High
School.
Mr Harvey introduced himself, and then the students sprung into action. They started
off with handballing, learning how to do it properly with a partner. They learnt the
basic skills of kicking, and played a fun game of dodge using handballs. The students
also played a goal kicking game and finished off with a competition where you had one
kick to try and hit a post, and if you hit it, then you got to keep a football (None of the
year sixes hit the post!)
The competition ended with a vote of thanks on behalf of the school by Korben, and then
the students got some footy stickers.
The students enjoyed learning footy skills and the students are glad Mr Harvey came to raise our interest about the game.
The B.D.H.S students loved it and we are looking forward to him coming to Boddington again.

Staff Changes
The school recently farewelled Mrs Cook and Mrs Owen, both
are on maternity leave and we wish them all the best for the
future. For the last three weeks of term Mrs Cook will replaced
by Mrs Janet Gowland, who is taking the maths and science
classes and Mrs Mitcham who is taking the home economics
classes. Mrs Nichols and Mrs Chadwick are also taking some of
the maths and science classes. We are fortunate that we have
experienced teachers to call on and we have advertised for a
replacement teacher to start next semester.
Welcome to Donelle Randall, our new canteen manageress. Thankyou to those
parents who have recently helped out in the canteen. Many hands make light work
and ensure that we can maintain a canteen service. Please let Donelle know if you
can lend a hand, even if only occasionally.
Year 6 Fundraising Events
The Year 6 class are fundraising for their overnight camp to Perth with the
following: 2 July: Hot Food & Wood Raffle stall at the Election booth
19 August: Casserole & Curry night at the community club.
Global Challenge
You may notice a bit more physical
activity around the school with seven
teachers and school officers competing
against 45,000 teams, from around the
world, in the global corporate
challenge. The goal is to average 10,000
steps every day for a hundred days,
with additional challenges along the
way. The team clocked 100,000 steps
last Saturday to meet it’s first challenge.
