TIBURON
TIBURON HISTORY
The Tiburon continues to shake up the sport coupe field with its sharp styling, eye-opening
performance an affordable price.
• Hyundai's first-generation Tiburon introduced in 1996, was a direct descendent of the
HCD-1 and HCD-2 concept cars with flowing lines and lots of curves.
• The revised first-generation Tiburon, introduced in 2000, brought a harder edge to the
original soft lines.
• The all-new second generation Tiburon was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in
September 2001 and made its North American debut at the South Florida International
Auto Show in October. It went on sale in the U.S. in the spring of 2002 as a 2003 model.
• For 2005, Tiburon received a major freshening, with revised headlights, side strakes, fog
lights, taillights and wheels.
• The GT Limited trim level was added in 2006, providing the ultimate in refined
performance, with standard beige leather interior surfaces, sunroof, Infiniti 440-watt,
AM/FM/6-disc CD changer/cassette with subwoofer and side repeater lights.

TIBURON VERSUS THE COMPETITION
To effectively sell Tiburon, you have to be aware of which vehicles your customers are crossshopping—that way, you're prepared when they come in asking questions. In the case of
Tiburon, it goes against a wide variety of competitors-everything from performance-oriented
cars like the Scion tC to mainstream coupes like the Saturn Ion. It also goes against domestics,
like the Ford Mustang.
Scion tC
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Ford Mustang V6
Honda Civic Si
Chevrolet Cobalt SS
