When applied over your bunker and pile plastic, the unique texture of

Use the following equation:
(W x L x T) ÷ 12 x 45 ÷ 2000 x $ =
Value of Spoiled Feed
W = the width of your bunker/pile in feet
L = the length of your bunker/pile in feet
T = the thickness of spoilage in inches
12 = dividing by 12 converts the previous measurements to cubic feet
45 = the assumed average density (pounds per cubic foot) of well packed silage
2,000 = pounds per ton of silage
$ = the value of your silage per ton
Example: A 50’ x 100’ bunker with 6” of spoilage and corn silage
valued at $50/ton
(50 x 100 x 6) ÷ 12 x 45 ÷ 2000 x $50 = $2,812,50
6” of spoilage would cost you $2,812.50 every year

• Helpful measurements include length,
width, and height of your silage
• Secure CoversTM sheets need to be
overlapped approximately 2’ at every
seam
• Order enough Secure Gravel Bags to
cover the perimeter, all Secure CoversTM
seams and all plastic seams
• Extra Secure Gravel Bags will be
beneficial for use on low spots and on
the edge facing the strongest winds
