Five Ways to Simplify Your Finances
The Portal Branch opened as scheduled on
May 1, 2012. We are excited about the
possibilities of serving the Portal community.
Please join us for our Ribbon Cutting/Open
House that is planned for Wednesday
July 18, 2012 at 5:15 pm. Expect to see city
and county dignitaries, great food provided by
Pepper Jack’s, and great fellowship. We hope

The 37th Annual Meeting was held on Thursday, June 21, 2012.
At the meeting, Troy Brown and Lenwood Roberts were re-elected to the
Board. Beth Mathews was newly elected to the Board.
The Board Members who will serve as officers for 2012 are: Spencer
Beckum, Chairman; Dr. Thomas Case, Vice Chairman; and Jill Boykin as
Secretary/Treasurer.
Overdraft agreement-set up with the
Credit Union to link your share draft
account to other accounts or opt in to
overdraft protection. This may greatly
reduce the amount you pay annually if
you overdraft your account. See member
services about the overdraft protection.
E-statements-they are a faster and more
secure way of receiving your statements,
better for you and the environment.
Bill Pay-it’s a convenient, time saving,
and eco friendly way of not only paying
your bills, but a way to receive those
bills by E-statement to one location.
Debt consolidation-can reduce the time it
takes out of each month to manage your
bills. It can also reduce the time it takes
to be debt free.
When you swipe your debit card, merchants or
card machines may ask you to choose between
“debit” or “credit.” While your credit union
charges no debit card fees, some merchants
charge a point of sale fee whenever you select the
“debit” option. To avoid paying fees, remember
to press the “credit” option when you swipe your
card. A signature will be all that is required and
you’ll be on your way.
