The Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers a full range of tutoring and academic support services. Individual and small
group tutoring is available in most subject areas by appointment, and walk-in tutoring is available in several subject areas
such as mathematics and biological sciences. Appointments are strongly recommended. Within the Academic Resource
Center are the Writing Center and World Language Center which provide tutoring for reading and writing across the

Student Support Services
Latch
LATCH is an academic support program that assists a variety of students. The most common is the first semester student
in school looking for help adjusting to college generally and for help in reading, writing, or math skills specifically. LATCH
courses are identical to those offered throughout the College.
LATCH offers
• Tutoring on a “drop-in” basis
• Counselors who are experienced at helping a student choose the right courses for that individual
• Individual interviews with counselors at least twice during a semester
• Workshops designed to help a student with such things as identifying a learning style, finding
an appropriate career for choosing a major course of study in college
LATCH services are also for adults who have been away from school for several years, students who have not maintained
good academic standing, students needing emotional support to succeed in college, students referred by high school
guidance counselors, special needs students with academic potential, students needing to develop academic skills and
community agency referrals. For more information please call: (508) 588-9100, ext.1070.

their academic and personal needs by providing an array of comprehensive support services. The potential benefits of these
additional services include better grades; improved chances of graduation; assistance with transferring to a four-year institution
to obtain a bachelor’s degree; more defined educational and career goals; and an enhanced academic experience. The
Program is designed for students who have the academic potential to succeed but whose background and/or extenuating
life circumstances place those students at additional risk of not fulfilling their educational goals.

Priority Deadlines: April 15 for the Fall (September) semester, and November 15 for the Spring (January) semester.
Financial aid funds are awarded year round on a first-come, first-served basis. If you apply after the Priority Deadline, your
aid might not be available in time to satisfy your semester bill. There is also no guarantee that grant funds will be available
if you miss the Priority Deadline. Student loans are available to students who miss our priority deadline.
