Forum of University Managers

Forum of University Managers
Objectives
As part of the Jubilee Year proclaimed by Pope Francis,
the first Forum of University Managers aims to provide
an opportunity for debate and the exchange of views
amongst university managers from all around the
world.
The Forum will address a range of issues that are
particularly relevant in the current geo-political
environment: those of ethics, dialogue and integration.
In a higher education system that is increasingly
open to individuals from different cultures and ethnic
groups, with different religious beliefs, and of different
social classes, and in a world in which a large
percentage of population is increasingly mobile,
we now face issues of integration and equal access,
and of respect for individuals and their origins in the
greater context of inclusiveness.
During the forum, speakers from a range of different
social and geographic contexts will compare their
experiences and the choices they have made to face
these issues. The forum will focus on the value of
knowledge, not only in itself, but also as the ability
to understand others, as a tool to overcome ignorance
and discrimination, and for the development of peace
and mutual comprehension.
