Soil: Use three parts commercial
potting soil mixed with one part sand.
Add one to two tablespoons of bone
meal, depending on the size of the
container.
Temperature: Daytime temperatures should be 70°-75°F and nighttime temperatures
should be 55°-60°F.
Light: Place in bright, indirect light from an eastern exposure.
Moisture: Water every two to three days.
Fertilization: Fertilize every other week, alternating between fish and seaweed fertilizers.
Grooming: This plant does not like root disturbance and it flowers best when pot-bound.
Repot every three to five years when the roots appear on the surface of the soil. After
flowering, remove red berries and the flower stalk to promote a greater bloom the
following year.
