SOUND SYSTEM
Our new state-of-the-art sound
system was put through its paces
by Grammy nominee CJ Chenier
and the Red Hot Louisiana Band
in the unforgettable sold-out
concert in July. Our own Jennifer
Porter sang with CJ and sat in
on keyboards for the second set
in a truly extraordinary meeting.
Combined grants from The
Maine Arts Commission and the Wilkinson Foundation,
and a generous gift from Robert and Elizabeth Barton made
the purchase of the sound system possible, and the concert,
which raised over $3,000, was made possible by Poland
Spring / Nestle Waters, Dr. Robert and Mrs. Doris McAfee
and Robert and Elizabeth Carroll. THANK YOU!

Thanks to generous gifts from Sanford Institution for
Savings, John and Betty Wuesthoff, Wright Express, Poland
Spring, Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution, and
Hudson Capital, the recording portion of Jennifer Porter’s
Benefit CD for The Saco River Theatre is now complete,
and it sounds magnificent.
Mixing,
mastering
and
replication are in process, and
the CD will be released in
late November – just in time
for Jennifer’s concert at SRT,
where CDs will be available.

accordion) Kevin Barry
(guitar) Jim Lyden (bass) Les
Harris, Jr. and Dave Jamrog
(drums) Aubrey Harris (bass)
Matt Langely (saxophones)
and Trent Austin (Trumpet)
all play beautifully on this
memorable recording.
FUNDRAISING NEWS
Due to pressing financial challenges, The 2012 Annual Fund
Drive was launched in the summer. Those of you who sent
in donations and pledges have quite literally kept the doors
open. THANK YOU! If you have not contributed this year,
but would still like to, please return your gift or pledge in
the enclosed envelope. Donations of any size are important!
General Operating Expenses are the priority, but we also
welcome contributions to the Restroom Capital Campaign.
We will use this year’s donation totals to gauge expectations
and goals for coming years. Through a combination of
support from more of our patrons, additional corporate
sponsorship and program advertising, benefit events and
projects, and expanded grant writing, we believe we can
emerge from this transition on solid footing.
If you have creative fundraising ideas or special skills and
would like to join our efforts, please contact us at cgrmoon@
sacoriver.net or 207-929-5412.
Please make checks payable to The Saco River Theatre.
All donations are tax-deductible. Please include your
e-mail address in the space provided. We are working to
reduce costs and save paper by gradually moving to digital
communications. You can also make a secure online
donation via PayPal at The Saco River Theatre Web Site
– www.sacorivertheatre.org. If you would prefer to pledge
an end-of-year gift, please cut out the attached pledge card
and return it in the envelope.
RESTROOMS ON THE HORIZON
Just over $1,000 in restroom funds has been donated / pledged
since June! This is a drop in the bucket (toilet!) toward the
completion of the project, but it has begun exactly as we
had hoped. Such incremental, grass roots beginnings will
pave the way for grants and additional funding. Remember
to drop a dollar in the “Restroom Jar” at events, and we will
keep you posted as the goal progresses!
