Why is HWA™ the home warranty company I should choose? HWA
Why is HWA™ the home warranty company I should choose?
HWA™ has been protecting homeowners since 1996. We care about our customers and their
home repair issues. Even when an item is not covered, we will do our best to make sure you
are serviced by the most responsible repair company.
We offer multiple plans that start at only $24.95 a month. You can pay monthly, in three
equal payments, or all at once. We want to work with you within your budget needs.
Compare HWA's coverage to others. We offer comprehensive coverage and often include
appliances and other items that are not covered by our competitors at the same or even lower
price.
How do you work with your service contractors?
HWA reviews and approves service contractors through an exhaustive process. See 'About
Our Service Providers' section. Unlike some other home warranty companies, we have a
dedicated Vendor Development Department that has created a database of thousands of
providers in all disciplines around the country to get you back up and running quickly and
efficiently.
What do I do if I think I have a claim?
We want you to go online to make a Service Request or call our Customer Service
Department 24/7/365. They are highly trained in the claims process as well as in helping you
possibly troubleshoot your problem and maybe not even need a trade call. This will save you
the trade call fee. Many times a switch may have accidentally been turned off or another
simple fix is neecan save you money.
In the event that you do need a service technician, you will call our toll-free number (1-888492-7359) and our Customer Service Representatives will help you right away. They have
instant access to the database and can refer you to one or more service technicians right over
the phone. They will help you get assistance as fast as possible
What if my appliances and systems are old?
HWA covers older and newer homes. There are no age restrictions. No inspection is required.
Any covered appliance or system that breaks down due to normal wear and tear that was in
proper working order on the effective date of your warranty is covered
What is Premium Coverage?
Premium Coverage is an option you can buy to cover parts that are not covered by typical
home warranty contracts. For example, in a dishwasher racks, baskets, rollers and door seals
are not typically covered, but if you have premium coverage they are covered. There are over
30 items covered in HWA's Premium Coverage. See Costs & Coverage section for details.
Do you cover Pools and Spas?
Yes we do. Please refer to Costs & Coverage section for details. We even have coverage for
second refrigerators, wet bars, stand alone freezers, and more.
How do I know if an item is covered?
Keep your contract in a safe place with all of your other key household papers. It is designed
in a systematic fashion so that you can read it easily. It is organized into major categories
such as Ductwork, Plumbing, Water Heater and so on. Go directly to that highlighted area of
your contract and read that paragraph. This will also help you troubleshoot your problem
before you call. But do not hesitate to call us if you are still unsure. We are here to help.

What is the difference between home insurance and a home warranty?
Home insurance and home warranties are both designed to help you in the event that you
experience loss or damage to your home and/or belongings. While coverage could overlap in
some instances, both policies offer different coverages for the most part.
Home warranty - A home warranty protection plan covers repairs and replacements on
systems and appliances within your home that fail due to normal wear and tear. The covered
items must be in proper working order before the contract is entered into with the home
warranty company.
Home insurance - A home insurance policy covers the structure of your home, your personal
belongings, and other structures on your property if damage or loss is caused by a covered
peril such as fire, hurricanes, wind damage, and others.
What Do I Need to Know About the New R-410A Refrigerant for A/C Systems?
The EPA requires R-410A (also known by the brand names Puron, SUVA and GENTRON AZ20) refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pump systems. This means that all new air
conditioning and heat pump equipment produced in or imported to the U.S. must use R410A or another non-ozone depleting refrigerant.
What Do I Need to Know About the ENERGY STAR Rebate Program?
Did you know that more than 70% of the energy used in our homes is for appliances,
refrigeration, space heating, cooling, and water heating? Replacing old appliances and
equipment with those that are ENERGY STAR labeled can help American families save
significantly on their utility bills.
