Your Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry will present its 69th Annual
Meeting dinner on Wednesday, January 28 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 400 West
Upham Street in Marshfield. Invitations to attend the dinner will be mailed the end of
December.
As we celebrate the 2014 accomplishments of the community, we will recognize those
businesses who develop the frame work for growth, and others who in a flash have
embarked on a new venture, and still others who have sketched out a plan to succeed.
This fundraising event to support Chamber efforts, offers sponsorship opportunities at
various levels. Available are the corporate sponsorship for $250, *NEW*, the Cork Pull
sponsorship for $100 and the Centerpiece for $75 or one arrangement for $40. Corporate
sponsorships must be secured by December 5, so contact the MACCI office to promote your
business.

Winter Weather Clothing Drive
As the cold weather approaches, Burns Insurance Agency LLC is
once again collecting coats, hats, mittens, and gloves for all ages.
Last year, with the help of community partners, this initiative was
very successful and over 4 car loads went to the needy. You are encouraged to go into your closets and if you and your families are not
wearing that coat any longer, please remember there are homeless
people on the streets that are cold and could use warm clothing.
If you are intersted in donating items, please bring no longer needed
outerwear to Burns Insurance Agency, located at 500 South Central
Avenue, and Dan & Cindy Burns, along with the staff will gladly
take care of getting items to those in need. Please pass this opportunity on to others. The collection will take place until December
15th. Help keep Marshfield warm!

The Importance of
Buying Local!
Christmas Dinner & Holiday Parties
The Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s gift certificate program
is the perfect example of how we can all
keep business local. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in Chamber gift certificates
are sold annually. These dollars are
recycled throughout the community several
times, providing jobs and increased profits
for our local businesses. Remember these
companies are the ones who support local
churches, the arts, schools, children’s activities, and the list goes on and on.
Please remember to BUY LOCAL before
you buy out of town. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you will find right
here in Marshfield.
“Over the river and through the woods, to The Vintage House we go!”
You focus on your family while we do the work. For Christmas dinner, select
the entrée of your choice: turkey, pork roast, prime rib, or ham. Your meal will
be served family style. When you’re done dining, you take home your leftovers!
The festive holiday meal includes salad bar and a lavish array of desserts.
The Vintage House has a private dining room that seats up to 40 people. Perfect
for Christmas parties, rehearsal dinners, luncheons, and other special occasions.

Your Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry was proud to be part of recent ribbon cutting
ceremonies.
Arby’s was excited to unveil their new restaurant design
at the grand re-opening of the Marshfield Arby’s
Restaurant. This restaurant is among the first Arby’s in
the nation to undergo an extensive revitalization process,
reflecting the new look and direction for the entire Brand.
The remodeled restaurant includes updates to the interior,
such as a fresh new color palate, strong geometric shapes
and elements, renewed materials and subway tiling.
Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. is a leading international
quick-service restaurant company operating and franchising nearly 3,400 restaurants worldwide. Arby’s was
the first nationally franchised, coast-to-coast sandwich
chain and has been serving fresh, craveable meals since
it opened its doors in 1964. The Arby’s brand strives to
inspire smiles through delicious experiences. They are on a
never-ending quest for the perfect sandwich, starting with the Classic Roast Beef and French Dip to the deli-style
Market Fresh® line of sandwiches and salads.

28 years. Thank you, Sternitzky family! The Marshfield Center of History opened
on Tuesday, November 11. This new location in
the lower level of the Marshfield Public Library,

Patients Receive Cozy Surprise
Thanks to some very generous donors, pediatric patients at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital will receive a cozy
surprize this winter: brand new slippers! Vally Communities Credit Union (VCCU) started collecting fuzzy slippers for
children who are hospitalized, hoping to make a patient’s stay feel more like home.
The “Slippers for CMN” drive was a new fundraising addition to VCCU. Members were asked to donate new slippers from
September through the end of October. Each branch location creatively set up fun displays to collect slipper donations. Participation was exceptional and some members even donated hand-knit slippers.
Donations were not limited to VCCU members. A donation drop-off site at the Mosinee Middle School was available where
students and staff took part in the drive. VCCU staff instituted a “Wear your Slippers to Work Day” in October, donating
money in order to make slippers part of their work attire for the day. Cash donations were also accepted, which were used to
purchase slippers.
On Thursday, November 6, Valley Communities Credit Union representatives
delivered 442 brand new slippers to the Children’s Miracle Network office
at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. They were sized from infant
socks to teens so that no pediatric patient’s toes would be cold this winter.
Valley Communities Credit Union is a loyal supporter of the Credit Unions
for Kids program and with the help of their members has raised more than
$32,500 to benefit Children’s Miracle Network through the Share-a-Bear
program candy bar sales and cash donations. VCCU has branch locations in
Kronenwetter, Mosinee, Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Wisconsin
Rapids.
