“With God’s help.” It serves as a reminder that we are dependent upon God for everything we do, and that all must be done
for his sake and his glory.

Shalom!
Are you a disciple of Yeshua? You’ve probably heard he atoned for our sins, but there is more! However, it
might not be what you’ve heard before.
The Christianity of the New Testament wasn’t the Christianity we know today, it was a sect of Judaism.
Today we call it “Messianic Judaism.”
“MESSIANIC JUDAISM” IS “JUDAISM” + “JESUS”
The whole Bible was written by Jewish disciples who never set foot in a “church.” (There weren’t any
churches in those days.) Yeshua and his disciples were Jewish and practiced Judaism. If you don’t understand the Jewish foundations of Christianity, you won’t understand the Bible, and you’ll miss out on a
big part of your heritage as a disciple of the Master.
We at First Fruits of Zion are on a mission to restore an understanding of the original faith and practice
of the apostles and the first followers of Jesus of Nazareth. We are educators in the Jewish Roots of
Christianity. Our specific mission is: Messianic Jewish teaching for Christians and Jews.
Our resources will help you to:
ƒƒ Know Jesus Better
ƒƒ Make Sense out of the Bible
ƒƒ Transform Your Walk with God
This catalog is your passport to a whole new world. The fact that you are reading these words probably
indicates that God’s Spirit is calling you to come up higher, dig in deeper, and connect with your Jewish
roots.
After almost two thousand years, Jewish people are also beginning to reconsider Jesus, and many are
meeting him as the Messiah of Israel. Christians are rediscovering their relationship to Israel and the
Jewish people. God is on the move, and the wheels of biblical prophecy have begun to turn again. This is
a promise of what is to come.
What are you waiting for? It’s time to start learning. A whole new world awaits you.
Grace and peace,
Boaz Michael
Founder and Director, First Fruits of Zion
Jerusalem, Israel

Yeshua Matters
PUTTING THE JEWISH RABBI BACK AT THE CENTER OF CHRISTIANITY
Yeshua Matters is the story of a pastor who discovers that Jesus Christ was not
just a Jewish person, but a practicing Jew, a teacher of Judaism. Jesus has lost his
Jewishness in the collective heart and mind of the church. What would change if
we all realized that Jesus’ Jewishness changes everything—that Yeshua matters?

Israel Matters
PUTTING THE JEWISH PEOPLE BACK AT THE CENTER OF GOD’S PLAN
In Israel Matters, the author of Yeshua Matters takes a theology centered on Rabbi
Yeshua of Nazareth one step further. What part do the Jewish people play in
God’s continuing work of salvation and redemption? Not only that—how should
the church define itself in the light of Israel’s unique role and calling?

Elementary Principles
Are you a spiritual person? A mature Christian? The apostles
do not think that you are unless you have mastered the basic
principles of the oracles of God. D. Thomas Lancaster goes back
to first-century Messianic Judaism to explore the six foundational
principles of discipleship to Jesus of Nazareth.

God-Fearers
GENTILES AND THE GOD OF ISRAEL
Historians, scholars, and theologians agree that first-century
Christianity was a sect of Judaism, but where does that information place first-century Gentile Christians? God Fearers brings
balance for non-Jews seeking the Jewish roots of their faith.

The Holy Epistle to the Galatians
Peter says that Paul’s letters contain things that are hard to understand, which
lawless people twist as they do the rest of the Scriptures. More than any other
book of the New Testament, Galatians defines the line between Messianic
Judaism and greater Christianity. The easy-to-read, narrative style of The Holy
Epistle to the Galatians challenges conventional interpretations and offers new
insights to reveal the Jewish Paul.

ISRAEL, GENTILES, AND THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL
Grafted In by D. Thomas Lancaster explores the Jewish theology behind the
Pauline inclusion of the Gentiles and considers what it means to be a “Messianic
Gentile.” Easy-to-read and inspiring, this book is an important correction for the
Messianic identity crisis and an encouragement for Jewish and Gentile believers.

The Sabbath Breaker
JESUS OF NAZARETH AND THE GOSPELS’ SABBATH CONFLICTS
Jesus has a reputation as a Sabbath breaker. Most of his conflicts with Jewish
religious leaders concerned the observance of the Sabbath. But when Jesus
is seen as an observant Jew who “did not come to abolish the Law” (Matthew
5:17), how can his Sabbath conflicts be reconciled? D. Thomas Lancaster brings
a surprising and fresh Messianic Jewish reading of the Gospels’ Sabbath stories
that overturns the theological tables of conventional interpretation.

Remembrance and Repentance
Christian anti-Semitism built the road that led to Auschwitz. In the Holocaust,
two thousand years of replacement theology culminated in genocide. European
Christianity sat in the cold darkness of indifference while the smoke of six million
innocent Jewish lives filled the skies. Remembrance and Repentance is about
remembering what happened in the past, understanding how we contributed to
the nightmare, and learning from those mistakes to change the future.

The Two-House movement teaches that many modern Christians are in reality
descendants of the ten lost tribes. The emotional and apocalyptic appeal of
Two-House theology is obvious. Boaz Michael uses the most recent scholarship
about Gentile identity in apostolic theology, and introduces a balanced alternative to Two-House theology. Twelve Gates welcomes Gentiles into the commonwealth of Israel, the New Jerusalem, and the Messianic Jewish movement.

interpretations and application. Take a drink of living water—learn some Torah!
Mezuzah
We may have read in the Scriptures that we are to “write these
words on our doorposts and gates,” but we may still wonder, “Which
words? And how?” The Mezuzah booklet helps you discover the
scriptural basis for the tradition of the mezuzah and its history
from the time of Moses to the present day. Study the mezuzah’s
symbolism and how it reveals the work of Messiah in our everyday
lives. We will learn about the history of the mezuzah, its purpose
and content, and experience the full meaning of this reminder as
we participate in this wonderful commandment.

Tzitzit
God tells the children of Israel to put tzitzit on the four corners of their garments
in order to remember the commandments of God. In Tzitzit we will discover the
rich symbolism associated with this commandment and journey from the Torah
text to ancient Near Eastern culture, to the words of our Master, and to rabbinic
writings in an effort to unlock the key of the tzitzit. This fully-Messianic study will
also address issues and difficulties involved in the practical application of tzitzit.

Bibles and Study Tools
Becoming familiar with God’s word is the first step in any Bible study.
First Fruits of Zion has several carefully selected Hebrew and English
Bibles to get you started.
Hebrew Bible
The Hebrew Bible is a unique reference tool for studying the Scriptures in their
original linguistic and cultural context. It combines in one helpful resource both
an all-Hebrew version of the Tanach (Old Testament) and a Hebrew translation
of the Apostolic Scriptures (New Testament). The Hebrew text is that of Christian
David Ginsburg (1894), a Jewish believer and eminent Hebrew scholar, compiled
from the Masoretic Text (Rabbinic Bible). The Hebrew translation of the Apostolic
Scriptures is Franz Delitzsch’s 1878 translation from the Greek Textus Receptus.

A Reader’s Hebrew Bible
Once you are able to read Hebrew, this is the Bible to use to build your biblical
Hebrew vocabulary. It is ideal for Hebrew students. A Reader’s Hebrew Bible
saves time and effort in studying the Hebrew. By eliminating the need to look
up definitions, the footnotes allow the user to read the Hebrew and Aramaic
text more quickly, focusing on parsing and grammatical issues. Contains unique
footnoted definitions (in English) of all Hebrew words occurring one hundred
times or less.

Hebrew New Testament
German Hebraist Franz Delitzsch captured the true underlying Hebraic essence
of the Apostolic Scriptures in this Hebrew translation that he produced in 1878.
With the assistance of Jewish believers, such as Yechiel Lichtenstein, Delitzsch
sought to render the Greek literally, as well as utilize Mishnaic Hebrew, closer to
the Hebrew spoken by the Master and the apostles. One of the foremost Hebrew
translations of the Apostolic Scriptures.

The “What About?” Series
The “What About?” series addresses key questions that arise in the process
of learning the Messianic Jewish perspective. These lectures are detailed,
educational, and progressive. They address some of Christianity’s most
misunderstood topics in a fresh and inspiring manner, guaranteed to
overturn old perspectives.
What About the New Covenant?
Does the new covenant really replace the old covenant? The church
teaches that the new covenant cancels the Torah and God’s covenant
with the Jewish people. Messianic Judaism teaches that Yeshua did
not abolish the Torah, but if that’s true, what about the new covenant?
D. Thomas Lancaster digs into the Bible’s prophecies to dispel many of
the common myths and misunderstandings about the new covenant.

What About Heaven and Hell?
The traditional Christian view of Heaven and Hell assumes that both exist. Beyond that, Christianity disagrees with itself on what Heaven is, what
Hell is, who goes where, and how long they stay. What About Heaven and
Hell? approaches these questions from a Messianic Jewish perspective to
cast new light on New Testament passages about Heaven and Hell.

What About Paganism?
Paganism and idolatry are real. Those who live in the West seldom see
people worshiping or offering sacrifices to idols, but paganism is as real
today as it was in the time of the Bible. Idolatry is not just a metaphor for
materialism—it exists in a physical and tangible way as well. Paganism
is not just something for the history books, but it is something every
believer must guard against, even today.

What About Tithing?
Most believers have been taught an obligation to give a tenth
of their income to their home church, but is this really what the
Bible requires? First Fruits of Zion teacher Toby Janicki attempts
to answer this question and more as he takes you on a fascinating biblical and historical study of the obligation of tithing.

What About the Sacrifices?
Christian theology teaches that Jesus’ death and resurrection
canceled the Levitical sacrifices, but this assumption raises some
serious problems. Torah Club author D. Thomas Lancaster takes
us into Leviticus, Hebrews, and the Messianic Age to come, to
reconcile the contradictions between old and new.

What About Evangelism?
The modern Messianic Jewish movement is birthed out of Christian
missionary efforts to evangelize the Jewish people, but how does the
rediscovery of Torah impact that original mission? In a series of five lectures, Torah Club author D. Thomas Lancaster considers the implications
of trying to bring the gospel to a post-modern world from a Messianic,
Torah-based perspective.

The Choir
The Nishmat Kol Chai prayer is one of the pillars of Jewish prayer.
This beautiful prayer opens with the declaration,
The soul of every living being shall bless Your Name, HaShem
our God, the spirit of all flesh shall always glorify and exalt Your
remembrance, our King.
Inspired by these words, Israeli Messianic Jewish artist Elhanan
Ben Avraham created a stunning piece of art that expands the
imagery of “the soul of every living being.” We are honored to have
partnered with Elhanan to create this beautiful art print entitled,
“The Choir.”
This is a great piece for children, parents, and grandparents.
“All that takes breath gather to Choir and sing together a song to
inspire: The horse’s neigh and donkey’s bray, and all that parrots
have to say, the piglet’s snort and cat’s meow, and chewing

Chronicles of the Messiah
THE GREATEST JEWISH STORY EVER TOLD
Case-Bound Edition (6 books)
To truly know Jesus, we must also know him as
Yeshua the Jew, the Messiah, and the King of the
Jews. We must weigh the ramifications of those titles
and grapple with the realization that Jesus never
left Judaism or started a new religion. Chronicles of
the Messiah builds on that perspective to study the
whole gospel story within the context of Judaism
and the Jewish people of Jesus’ day.

Clue Number Five: So according to the Master,
Yochanan (John) the Immerser was Elijah. Let’s see
what John himself says about being Elijah. Read
John 1:19–23.
Clue Number Six: This is confusing! Yeshua says that
Yochanan (John) is Elijah, but Yochanan himself says
he is not. Let’s go read a prophecy about Yochanan.
Look up Luke 1:17. What did the angel Gabriel say
about Yochanan before he was born?
Clue Number One: Let’s go to the place where the
disciples asked Yeshua about Elijah. Read Matthew
17:10–11. What did Yeshua tell his disciples when they
asked about Elijah?
Clue Number Seven: Elijah’s job was to be the
messenger God sent to prepare the way for Messiah.
What was Yochanan the Immerser’s job? Read
Luke 7:27–29.
Clue Number Two: Before we go any further, we
should find the original prophecy that predicts Elijah
will come before the Messiah. Find the book of Malachi
in your Bible and read Malachi 4:5–6.
Solve the Mystery: What do you think? Was
Yochanan (John) the Immserser really Elijah, or
was he a prophet who came in the spirit and
power of Elijah?

prophecy. They believed that Yeshua was the
Messiah that God had promised to send to His
people, but they wondered why Elijah had not
come first. If Yeshua was really the Messiah,
where was Elijah?
They asked Yeshua about it, and he told them
that Elijah had already come. That was confusing.
If Elijah had already come, where was he?
Are you ready to do some disciple-detective
work? Let’s get out our Bibles and follow the
clues to see if we can solve this mystery.

VINE OF DAVID
The Everlasting Jew
Rabbi Lichtenstein became an outspoken disciple of Yeshua but, despite pressure from all sides, he would not renounce Judaism or his devotion to the Torah.
The Everlasting Jew, compiled, edited, and revised by Jordan Gayle Levy and
D. Thomas Lancaster, is a new collation of Rabbi Isaac Lichtenstein’s inspiring
writings, translated to English for the first time.

Love and the Messianic Age
Crammed with stimulating thought and pervaded by real spiritual beauty, Love and the Messianic Age is a Chasidic discourse
from one of the pioneers of Messianic Judaism, Paul Philip
Levertoff. This book opens a field of inquiry and reflection that
encourages us to internalize the spiritual truths of theology
and of our faith in Messiah and causes us to consider our relationship with God, our motivations for serving him, and how
our interactions with God and Torah can be expressed in hearts
of joy, acts of love, fervent prayer, and sincere repentance.
Our writers have also taken the time to explain Levertoff’s
concepts and to bring additional insights from the world of
Jewish literature. More than that, they drew out intriguing
parallels from the Gospels and Epistles. The final result is more
than a simple commentary on another book; it is a plunge into
the deepest waters of New Testament mysticism and apostolic
theosophy. The short, bite-sized commentaries will also serve
well as a type of daily devotional.

The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels
A PARALLEL HEBREW / ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE FOUR GOSPELS
More than a century ago, Franz Delitzsch created
a biblical work of art. Assisted by prominent
Messianic Jewish scholars with classical rabbinic
educations, Delitzsch translated the Greek New
Testament into Hebrew, returning Yeshua to
Judaism and giving the Gospels back to the
Jewish world.
The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels (DHE) is perhaps
the best entry point to seeing, learning, and understanding the gGospels from a Jewish matrix.
The DHE has been conceptualized and designed
DELUXE EDITION HARDCOVER
DELUXE EDITION SOFTCOVER
to give students of the Gospels an opportunity
to study the words and teachings of Yeshua of Netzeret in their historical context. Apart from the unique
presentation of the four Gospels in parallel Hebrew/English text, with context sidebars and references, the
DHE also contains additional sections that will add further depth and meaning to the study of the Gospels.

NAMES OF MESSIAH IN JEWISH SOURCES
In the Bible and other Jewish sources, the Mashiach is deliberately assigned various eye-opening and specific names. This new breakthrough book introduces
the reader to the rich background and meaning behind some of the names of
the Messiah. Dr. Tsvi Sadan, a native-born Israeli, holds a Ph.D. in Jewish History
from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has researched Jewish and
Christian views of the Messiah for more than twenty years.

Taming the Tongue
The Epistle of James says that anyone who considers him- or herself to be
religious, yet does not tame his tongue, is self-deceived. James says that such a
person’s religion is worthless. On the other hand, James refers to the person who
tames his or her tongue as a “perfect” person. That’s a stark contrast. This book,
Taming the Tongue, adds to Judaism’s ongoing conversation about the laws and
principles of proper speech from a slightly different angle. This book contributes
to the conversation from a Messianic Jewish perspective, bringing to bear the
powerful teachings of Yeshua and the apostles.

VINE OF DAVID
The Vine of David Haggadah
MESSIANIC JEWISH PASSOVER SEDER
The Vine of David Haggadah is a translation of the traditional Haggadah,
containing the complete seder text in both English and Hebrew—setting
a new standard for Messianic haggadot, both in terms of production
quality and content. It balances the best of both traditional and
Messianic worlds by respecting the customs and history of Israel, and the
commandment of the Master to keep the festival in remembrance of him.
Throughout the traditional seder text, Messianic passages have been
seamlessly interwoven to create a truly authentic Messianic haggadah.

Meal of Messiah
THE WEDDING SUPPER OF THE LAMB
The Meal of Messiah is a resource for the final day of Passover, which
commemorates the crossing of the Red Sea. There is a custom to end the
season of redemption with an additional, less formal meal called Se’udat
Mashiach (Meal of Messiah). This event focuses on the ultimate redemption
and the future Messianic banquet. Meal of Messiah, formatted and styled like
the Vine of David Haggadah, presents a service for this final day of Passover
and celebrates both the resurrection of our Master and the dawning of the
Messianic Age. It includes songs, Scripture readings, and inspiring passages
from both rabbinic literature and the early church fathers.

A TU BISHVAT HAGGADAH
In the seventeenth century, a new custom arose to celebrate Tu Bishvat with a
seder, a ceremonial meal inspired by Passover. The Tu Bishvat seder is structured
around four cups of wine and involves discussion about the process of redemption and repairing the world. Share in the vision of the Messianic Jewish luminaries who longed to see that hope restored in the State of Israel, the “beginning of
the sprouting of our redemption.”

Torah Portions
torahportions.org
The Jewish world studies a portion of the Torah
every Sabbath. Even in the days of the apostles,
the Torah was read every week in the same
manner. An annual lectionary, the Torah reading
cycle, allows all Israel to study the same passages
of Scripture simultaneously as they work through
the Torah from week to week.

First Fruits of Zion (FFOZ) is a
Messianic Jewish educational
ministry dedicated to teaching
Messianic Judaism to Christians and
Jews. FFOZ has offices in the United
States, Canada, and Israel, and has both
Jewish and Gentile staff and contributors.
FFOZ focuses on Bible study and education,
specializing in presenting Scripture from its
historical, linguistic, and cultural context. We are
a part of a prophetic movement of God in which
his Spirit is returning his people to a proper biblical
foundation rooted in Torah, Israel, and the Messiah.
Our objective is to help rejuvenate the believer’s faith,
encouraging him or her to become zealous for Messiah,
discipleship, and the whole Word of God.
