Renaissance’s charity carol concert
A charity carol concert is
coming up this Saturday
(November 22) in Exmouth.
Hosted by the Renaissance
Ladies’ Chorus, it’s at Tower
Street Methodist Church, in aid
of Devon Freewheelers. There’s
free admission, but the organisers are asking for donations.
Devon Freewheelers is a
team of 50 volunteer emergency vehicle drivers dedicated
to providing a weekday out-of-
hours and a weekend service
supporting the NHS hospitals
in Devon. Last year, it undertook 2,012 missions that saved
lives.
“The charity needs at least
£150,000 a year to maintain a
fleet of 11 bikes, two emergency, all-terrain vehicles and
its HQ. We hope our fundraising will help towards these
costs,” said Jenny Letten,
Renaissance’s chairman.
The chorus’s recent
Christmas carol workshop was
attended by more than 40
women from all over East
Devon.
“I can’t get over the quality
and sound of our new ladies,
they’re fabulous,” says Maire
Hoppins, Renaissance’s musical director. “We’ll have a
wonderful evening on Saturday,
with our new Christmas Belles
