Inspection and Unpacking
Please inspect the wooden crate for obvious shipping damage. If no visible damage to crate is found,
then inspect the metal cabinet for any physical damage to the cabinet.
If no damage to the metal cabinet is found, remove the front cover using a suitable Phillips screwdriver
(see photo below). Inspect the inside (under bright lights) for any loose wires or parts.
Note: File claim with the freight carrier if any damage is found.

Input & Output Electrical Specifications
VRp-20000-0230 is designed to receive power from single-phase 230 vac +/-20% input power source
(operating input frequency: 47~63 hz)
Output is single-phase and regulated to be within 230 vac +/-3% under all load conditions.
Input circuit breaker is included (shown on the photo above).
Site Preparation (Grounding, Bonding, and Lightning Protection)
Please ensure that site is properly grounded (there is very low resistance between earth ground and the
ground wire and good neutral-to-ground bond exists at service entrance point).
If immunity against the more severe surges resulting from lightning strokes is required, proper external
surge protective devices in compliance with applicable IEEE standards for surge protection (or IEC-61312
standard for “Coordination of Surge Protective Devices”)
Making AC Input Wire Connections
WARNING: Make sure that AC input wires are DE-ENERGIZED (turned off) before proceeding!
WARNING: Never work with live wires as injury or death may occur due to electric shock!
Note:
Turn off the VRp’s circuit breaker.
Note: Use minimum AWG 0 (or 50 square mm) wires rated for 125 amps, 600V minimum for input wires.
All conductors must be of the same size. Take care to follow local electrical codes where unit is installed.
AC input wires and VRp output wires must go through two circular holes at the bottom of the cabinet (see
photo below). Avoid damaging the wires and secure the wires firmly to the case by using proper circular
bushing or cable glands.
Connect the input wires to LI (Line Input), NI (Neutral Input) and G (Ground) to the terminals shown on
the photo below. Strip the wire insulation to expose about 0.5 inch (12 mm) length of wire conductor,
insert in the terminal and tighten the screws for secure electrical & mechanical connections for all 3 input
(Line Input, Neutral Input and Ground) wires.

Energizing VRp
1. Turn on the 230 vac supply AC input supply.
2. Switch on the AC input circuit breaker of the VRp.
3. Green “Regulation” LED’s must turn ON and remain on (while yellow Bypass LED must turn off)
after several seconds. Green & yellow LED’s are located near the circuit breaker of the VRp.
4. VRp is now operational.
5. Using a digital voltmeter, measure the input voltage and verify that input voltage between LI and
NI is within 230 vac +/-20%. Verify that voltage between NI and G is less than 5 vac.
6. Using a digital voltmeter, measure the VRp’s regulated output voltage. Voltage between LO (Line
Out) and NO (Neutral Out) terminals must be within 230 vac +/-3%. Verify that voltage between
NO and G is less than 5 vac.
7. VRp is operating correctly (if steps 1 to 6 are verified).
Connecting the Load Equipment to VRp
1. Make sure that VRp is turned OFF (and the 230 vac input supply is also turned OFF).
2. Connect the 3 wires from the equipment to the VRp output terminals LO (Line Output), NO
(Neutral Output) and G (Ground). Verify that power switch of the equipment is in OFF position.
3. Output wire sizes must be rated at 2 AWG (or 35 square mm), 600V, 95A minimum.
4. Turn on the 230 vac input AC supply to the VRp.
5. Turn on the VRp (turn on the input circuit breaker).
6. Turn on the equipment switch.
7. Verify that the equipment is operating properly.
8. After turning everything off, front cover must be securely secured to the VRp using bolts/screws.
Important Safety Instructions
If any work must be done inside the cabinet, then input power must be always disconnected to avoid
accident and electrocution of the maintenance personnel.
Only trained personnel (or persons authorized by TSi Power to carry out the work and given clear written
troubleshooting and/or repair instructions by TSi Power’s customer support team member) shall carry out
any trouble-shooting or repair operation.
