ATTENTION RESIDENTS
To protect yourselves, please use licensed and insured contractors per the prospectus. It might be a good idea for you to know
the background of anyone you invite onto your home site for any reason. You are responsible for the conduct of persons you
invite into the community.

Please stop by the office to pick up your 2015 -2016 directory during office hours if you have not received yours yet.

the ballroom is for the community and is to be shared with the entire community. There will be days that the everyday activities
will not be held in the ballroom and somehow a call may be missed. Please check the list each month to see what day something
will be held and cancel your activity in advance. You should still receive a call hopefully, but now it will also be posted. The
posting will be located in the ballroom on the wall by the double doors on the right side.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

MESSAGE
FROM YOUR HOA
BOARD
We saw a number of new faces at the
October Informational Meeting. WOW!
Once again we were impressed with the
attendance at the meeting. We had almost 70
people! Our goal is to see 100 when all of
our part timers have returned. Thank you for
taking the time to attend the meeting and
participate in the Member Participation
discussions. Your suggestions, questions and
commendations are very important to us.
We are striving to have an active and
informed HOA.
Unfortunately the guest speaker on the use
of the defibrillator had to cancel. We will
reschedule this presentation. At the
November Information Meeting our guest
speaker will focus on Internet Safety.
The Board shared information from the
October Management Meeting. We talked
about lawns and lakes. We have 36 lakes.
Uncharacteristically rainy, warm weather
and a number of EPA regulations have made
it challenging to keep the lakes clean and the
lawns fertilized. We also spoke about the
new land development. Please read about
more of the details and the other items
discussed from the meeting in our meeting
minutes from October 8.
Golf pro, Rod Perry announced that he is
planning an HOA Golf Course Tour He will
lead golf carts through the course, answer
questions and provide refreshments at the
end. More details will be posted on flyers
throughout the community.
Rod also presented a proposal for a Crane
Lakes Community Golf Scholarship to be
available for Spruce Creek High School
boys and girls golfers. He asked for our
support and assistance with several fund
raiser ideas. One suggestion was to have a
golf tournament and pancake breakfast for
golfers, non-golfers and the community to
raise monies for the scholarship. By a show
of hands, the membership agreed to support
him in this endeavor. Further details about
this and other events will be forthcoming.
This month we asked our members to
review the current budget. We would like
their ideas and questions before we plan
next year’s budget. We will ask for input
and questions at the November Information
Meeting. The 2016-17 budget will be put up
for vote at the March 2016 Information
Meeting.
The website continues to be updated. The
revised Policies and Procedures should be
posted the end of December. The HOA
website is cranelakeshomowners.com.
We have several upcoming events for
November and December. Please join us for
the Craft Fair, The Del Prados, The
Christmas Dance, and the New Year’s Eve
Party. We look forward to to seeing you at
these events.
We hope you will attend the November
Information Meeting, where we will be
discussing the 2016-17 budget. Help us meet
our goal of members at the meeting!

September 2015 Meeting
A nice group of almost 30 members enjoyed an
interesting evening of Argentinian wines and
foods in the Ballroom.
With a wide selection of Maibee from at least 10
different vintners, we were provided the
opportunity to experience the variations of this
abundant grape and the styles of the different
winemakers. One vintner, Alta Vista accounted
for 5 different blends which were all strikingly
different.
In addition, there were some delicious Cabernet
Sauvignon and a light and refreshing Torrontes,
a native white grape of Argentina.
Once again, our members provided some
wonderful examples of Argentinian foods for us
to sample.
We enjoyed some great empenandas of various
styles, flavorful steak with chimichurri, an
interesting spinach and sausage pie, two
different fritattas, spicy cream cheese and
pepper jelly along with some delicious coconut
dulce de leche cookies.
Next month, October, we will feature Rose’
wines. As the first Rose’s were produced in
Provence, we look forward to tasting some of
the interesting foods of that region of the Cote
de Azur.
Please remember that our November meeting
will be combined with our December meeting
and will be held on December 6th. The theme
for that meeting will be Sparkling wines and we
will feature foods from Italy for our holiday
meeting.
We look forward to seeing everyone on October
25th, and please remember that our group is
open to all residents of Crane Lakes.

F.M.O. NEWS...
Why join the F.M.O. (Federation of Manufactured Home
Owners?
• In 2013 the F.M.O. helped pass legislation to require
Citizens Insurance to cover mobile home
attachments.
• Defeated a bill requiring fees for bingo operations in
communities (1995) and maintain homeowner's
rights to conduct bingo (1992).
• Defeated attempts to tax mobile homes on rental
property as real property (2003).
• Employs a full time lobbyist representing our interest
in Tallahassee.
Applications to join the F.M.O. are in the hallway across
from the gym. Just fill out and mail to the F.M.O. office
to join.
The next F.M.O. meeting will be in Lamplighter Mobile
Home Community in Port Orange on November 2nd.

What's happening at
The Crane Lakes Resale Office?
Homes listed for sale with our office have been selling very steady again this year.
We have seen a return of serious house buyers over about the past 3.5 years. Between
September 1st & October 6th we sold an additional six (6) homes bringing our YTD total
to 43 sales! Our clients seem to love everything that we have to offer here in Crane
Lakes. Sales prices have tended to be slowly on the increase but nowhere near where they
were in the peak years during the early and mid 2000’s.
The vast majority of our recent buyers remain heavily focused on our listings under
the $100,000 level and are generally matching their purchase here to the closing date on
the sale of their primary residency elsewhere. In past years, sales are generally strong
through the first week in December and then tend to dramatically slow down during the
holiday season until the end of January!
Do you know someone who would enjoy the amenities and the lifestyle that Crane
Lakes has to offer its residents? If so, why not tell them about how much you enjoy
living here. Next, send them in to our office to see the fine homes that we have to sell. If
they seem to love it here as much as you do, and they contract to buy one of our listings
during the month of November, we will thank you with a $100 check referral after the
closing takes place.
Please remember to visit our web-site @ www.cranelakes.com to see a complete
list of our homes that we have for sale.
Call Doug Peck, Joan Dwyer or Andy Edwards to set up an appointment to either
view our listings or to discuss setting up a free home market evaluation to use in the
event that you are considering selling your Crane Lakes home:
Please call us at:
386-304-0983
