BKN, Branch Re-use shops Netherlands
First kringloopshop established 1980, nowadays 8000 people
employed
BKN, founded in 1994, supports the development of
the branch by sharing knowledge and educating her
members.
BKN cooperates with several organizations: like NVRD,
Wecycle, Greenchoice and Stibat.
1999: www.marktplaats.nl online, set up by “Het Goed”,
Emmeloord and sold to Ebay in 2004 for 225 mln euro

Municipality supports Kringloopshops in two ways:
Financial support for re-integration of employees to the labor
market
Financial support for service of waste collection and discarding
waste for free at municipal amenity centers
Kringloopshops can be collection point for WEEE (with the reimbursement of 82,86/t. They applied for the re-imbursement of
140 euro/t which retailers get.
