Q&A Session with IC, Torris Dale from Camden, AL
Q: Why did you choose truck Driving as a career?
A: "Growing up and all throughout high school, I knew I wanted to be a policeman and also wanted to
drive a truck. After high school, I became a police officer and worked that job for about 7 years. In
the meantime, I had friends that drove a truck for a living and told me that the money was good. I
decided I wanted to try it and Hornady was the first company I came to work for and I have loved it
ever since. I know that if I have to leave out on a Saturday morning then I'll be happy to do it because
I love my job and I'm ready to go at anytime."
Q: What do you do to overcome problems on the road?
A: "Call dispatch if I need to and we always work through the problems together. If I can handle it
myself I just deal with it and get it done."
Q: What led you into becoming an IC?
A: "I had a couple of friends tell me that the money was good andMr.President (Chris Hornady)
brought it to my attention a few times so in 2006 I signed my first contract in the lease program at
Hornady. In 2008, the economy hit rock bottom and I got out of it but in 2009 I decided to come back
as an IC and it has been great for me ever since. I even enjoy the paperwork involved in running my
own business."
Q: What do you like about Hornady?
A: "So many things! There are so many great people with good attitudes. I don't know
who does the hiring but they do a good job. Everyone knows you by name and they are all people that
you can get along with. Mr. President always takes time to talk to you and make sure everything's going
good when I stop by Hornady."
Donald Grice's daughter, Keyondra, left on August 12, 2015 for the Great Lakes
to complete basic training and become a US Navy soldier. Please keepKeyondra
and the Grice family in your thoughts and prayers as she embarks on this journey!
