Dinaric Society for Vegetation Ecology at Camerino, Italy.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
Camerino is a small town of 7,000 inhabitants in the Marches Region (central Italy), near the
border with Umbria. It is located in the Apennines, in the Camerino-Fabriano syncline in the North
of Sibillini Mountains National Park, between the Potenza and Chienti valleys, about 90 km from
Ancona (Adriatic side).
How to get to Camerino:
BY CAR
- From Rome, Florence, Naples: toll highway A1 until the exit for Orte. Continue to Terni,
Spoleto, Foligno. At Foligno town onto SS77 in the direction of Macerata, continue for
about 40 km to Serravalle di Chienti and Muccia and then follow the signs to Camerino.
- From Bari, Bologna: toll highway A14 up to Civitanova Marche; freeway SS 77 for about 60
km up to the exit Camerino-Valdiea. Continue for about 10 km up to Camerino.

BY TRAIN
- Rome-Ancona line to Fabriano. Continue by train or local bus (nearby railway stop) to
Castelraimondo.
- Bologna-Bari line to Civitanova Marche. Continue by local line to Castelraimondo.
We will organise a free shuttle bus between Castelraimondo train station and the congress venue,
on Tuesday 24th in the afternoon and Wednesday 25th in the morning. If you enjoy of this
service, we invite you to communicate by email the date and hour of your arrival to
Castelraimondo.
Fees and Costs
We remember you that the conference fee of € 25.- (students) and € 40.- (regular participants)
should be paid to the account shown below. Costs of excursions (€ 35.- for the first, 26 th May, €25.for the second, 27 th May and € 20.- for the third, 28 th May) could be paid directly at the registration
desk in Camerino. Costs of accommodation and board will be paid individually by the participants in
the Congress Centre (Relais Villa Fornari).

Power Point presentations are strongly recommended (Microsoft Office Professional Edition
2003 or Windows 7 in compatibility modality with 2003 version).
The official language is English; oral presentations may also be given in German, French or
Italian.
The size of the posters is expected to be up to 70x100 cm. Handouts of posters are encouraged.
Please hang your poster on May 24th on the board marked with the number which you will be
assigned by email message.
Excursions
Excursion May 26th: Torricchio Mountain Natural Reserve focused on Apennine
hilly/mountain plant landscape and grassland management.

Excursion May 27 : Prati di Ragnolo (Sibillini Mountains National Park) focused on
Apennine mountain plant landscape: beech wood management and effects
of grassland abandoment.
Post-congress excursion May 28th: top of Sibillini Mountains, in the alpine bioclimatic belt
(excursion with hiking level).
Please note, that the destination of third excursion will be chosen on the basis of snow
conditions at the time. Good shoes (hiking boots), warm clothing including a rain coat are necessary,
staffs are useful, for all excursions.
