Our members had a ball at our November meeting learning
how to make a long lasting holiday floral centerpiece and
how to create and embellish gorgeous packages. A big thanks
to Breen Florist for a timely and very enjoyable program.
We also elected our 2011 Board and want to
thank these ladies for agreeing to serve our club
and the community:

Lone Star College, Cy-Fair, and grants to other non-profits
in our community. Our monthly meetings are for fun and
fellowship and we would love to have any women in the
area join us. If you have questions about our club or need

Will Cell Phone Towers
inside the Copperfield Area
Lead to Urban Blight or do they
Just Spoil the View?
Cell phone tower corporations are succeeding in placing cell phone
towers within the Copperfield area, even though it violates deed
restrictions, and the architectural character of the Copperfield area.
Resident’s opinion and existing statutes have been overlooked as
cell phone corporations are approaching the local school district,
commercial property associations, and homeowner associations to place
cell phone towers inside the Copperfield area. Successfully placing
towers in a Wheatstone commercial area (YMCA) and in Copperfield’s
Southdown Village, on an elementary school grounds, one might ask,
who is really benefiting from these smoke-stack looking structures?
Residents, who purchased homes in the master planned
communities of the Copperfield area, were made aware of deed
restrictions limiting structures on their property. Many of the same
deed restrictions also apply to the commercial and school district
properties. The constant here is that the Copperfield area has an
architectural character that cell phone towers aesthetically violate.
The green-belts and low commercial signage along SH 6 and the
major boulevards throughout the Copperfield area has brought the
Copperfield area notoriety from City and County officials. Being
a well planned community with standards that support property
values, as well as offering a pleasing environment, the Copperfield
area continually attracts home buyers.
The residents of the Copperfield area are proud of their well
maintained master planned communities and their architectural
character, and they should be consulted to decide if smokestack looking cell phone towers are what they want for their
community.
Residents should contact their Copperfield area homeowner and
commercial associations if they do not want to see more cell phone
towers, and want to have those towers that have been erected taken
down when their leases expire. The Copperfield Coalition has posted
an on-line poll at www.copperfieldcoalition.org.

CHEERLEADERS
Are you ready for some basketball? The Lobo cheerleaders are!
They decorated the boys and girls basketball locker rooms with over
50 signs, streamers, and balloons! What a fun, festive way to kick
off basketball season!
The cheerleaders are all about our fantastic Lobo teams and wanting
to support them every way they can, but our girls also care deeply
for our community and want to support it as well. To that end, the
cheerleaders wrote 130 Holiday cards that will be sent to military
service men and women through the organization Cypress Cares,
they are sponsoring a clothing drive for Boys and Girls Country, and,
on December 2nd, they are caroling at Copperfield Estates. Wow!
Lobo cheerleaders, we are proud of you! Go Lobos!

to Celebrate?

A Night in Bethlehem
Messiah Lutheran Church is going back in time Saturday and
Sunday, December 4 & 5, with A Night in Bethlehem, from 5-8
pm each evening. This free event is an educational reenactment of
what Bethlehem was like at the time of Jesus’ birth. Families are
invited to learn how to make candles, sew sacks and make bread as
people did two millennia ago. Children can participate in activities
at each station along the road in Bethlehem, visit with some barnyard
animals, hear the storyteller recount tales of old, and listen to the
melodic harmony of three wise kings. Come and enjoy a Night in
Bethlehem with us and create something special to take home as a
souvenir.
Messiah Lutheran Church is a grace place, a congregation of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Messiah is located
at 11522 Telge Road, ½ mile north of Highway 290. Regular worship
times are at 8 and 10:30 AM on Sundays. The Education
Hour is 9:15-10:15 AM on Sundays. For more
information, 281-890-3013 or
