Feedback
Alcohol Consumption in
Public Places
The Designated Public Places Order
(DPPO) came into effect in Thanet
in 2006. It specifically deals with the
consumption of alcohol in public places.
This means that the Police have more
power to deal with
NO DRINKING IN
groups or individuals
PUBLIC PLACES
who are found drinking,
which they think could
lead to anti-social or
criminal behaviour.
These powers include
confiscations, arrest or
being fined.
DRINKING FROM OR POSSESSING A CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL
IN ANY PUBLIC AREA WITHIN THANET, WHEN ASKED NOT TO
DO SO, MAY LEAD TO AN ARREST AND A FINE OF £500.
