Sizing a New Cast Iron radiator:
Firstly, choose a style that you like and select the required height of radiator.
Then, take the total Wattage required for your room and divide this by the
output per section stated for your chosen model. This gives you the total
number of sections required to heat that room. This can be left as one
radiator or divided up as necessary into several smaller radiators (we
recommend that you do not exceed 3500 Watts or 30 sections in one
radiator using ½” pipe work).
To work out the overall length, simply multiply the number of sections by the
section width stated for that model. Similarly, the total price can be
calculated by multiplying the number of sections by the price per section,
either in Primer or Colour.
e.g. Total Output required = 930 Watts
Model selected = Ludlow LUD4/60
So… 930 ÷ 93 Watts = 10 sections required
Radiator Length is 10 x 60mm = 600mm
Radiator Cost in Primer - 10 x £25.21 = £252.10 ex Vat
Pipe Centres for Cast Iron radiators:
The pipe centre to pipe centre would be the length of the radiator plus
30mm for end fittings plus the Valves.
e.g. a 10 section LUD4/60 = 600mm + 30mm + Valves
Warranty:
All our Cast Iron radiators come with a 5 year warranty covering
manufacturing defects. Warranty does not extend to any costs incurred for
the removal/fitting of faulty or replacement goods.
