Since the age of 15 Donita Rose has been in the public eye. She’s
been a fixture in the Philippine entertainment industry (and
throughout Asia as a VJ for MTV ASIA) for decades.
In the last 9 years Donita has reinvented herself as a devoted wife
and mother and left the Entertainment industry and the Philippines
for a couple years to go to culinary school and pursue a dream of
becoming a chef. She has a wealth of practical experience to share
with other moms across the world.
What I’d like to do is take a small team of talented filmmakers who I’ve worked with
on a number of occasions before and film Donita wherever she feels most
comfortable, whether that’s at her family home in Las Vegas or where she’s staying
while filming her current daytime variety show “Basta Everyday Happy” which
translates to “As long as you’re happy every day.”
I’ve secured her initial involvement with her management team in the Philippines so
we’ll be free to capture beautiful, natural lit footage augmented only with a few small
LED lights, enough to fill Donita and the food and products she’s showing off. We’ll
then work with her to craft a suite of videos that show off her culinary expertise as it
relates to day to day life with her family. Authenticity and a sense of humor, the ability
to laugh at oneself, will be trademarks of these videos. We want to inspire viewers to
believe they can reinvent themselves according to what each new day brings.
Share and learn
She’ll share a couple of easy and quick favorite lunch recipes like a
fresh grape, feta, and walnut salad or a Thai Veggie Peanut Wrap
with carrots, edamame and jicama. We’ll keep the setting relaxed
and casual, allowing her to showcase some of her trademark wit and
sense of humor while incorporating little bits of stories from her time
in the US, the Philippines and Singapore.

As you can see from these photos, Organization is one of Donita’s
strong suits. She’s been a talented multitasker for years and one of
the keys to making her life manageable is staying organized. She’ll
give advice on how to prep your purse or bag for anything that may
come up on the go. And we’ll then work with her in her kitchen as
she discusses prepping a few delicious base meals on Saturday or
Sunday to get you through the week with minimal cooking time.

Donita is widely considered a beauty and style icon in Asia and now that she’s a mother
with a busy schedule it’s become more and more challenging to look her best when she
doesn’t have a full team of people. When she came to the US to pursue culinary arts she has
said that the red carpet treatment disappeared. She’s learned to adjust to day to day life as a
mom and someone starting at the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her life. I would
love to have her inform viewers of some of her favorite beauty products that allow her to
move seamlessly from home to the kitchen and to the occasional public appearance. I’d
also like to highlight some of her favorite cleaning products that help keep her home
kitchen up to the standards of a working, professional kitchen.
Humor and relatability have always been two of Donita’s hallmarks as an
entertainer. She’s down to earth and humble in way that’s genuinely
surprising for such an experienced performer. These will be the backbone
of this series. We’ll film her not on a big set but where she goes when
filming stops and she gets to really be herself.
We’ll see Donita’s authentic enthusiasm for helping other moms. Even for
her, not everything has always come easy and she’ll communicate this fact
while sharing some of the tips that have made her day to day life more
manageable and certainly a more delicious and enjoyable way.
