ACCESS for ELLs
1.  ACCESS for ELLs is given annually to
Alabama students in grades K-12 who have
been identified as English Language Learners.
2.  It is used to monitor EL students’ progress in
acquiring academic English within the school
context as well as language associated with
language arts, mathematics, science, and
social studies across four domains of
speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Alternate ACCESS for ELLs
Alternate ACCESS for ELLs is an
assessment of English language
proficiency for students in grades 1 -12
who are classified as English language
learners (ELLs) and have significant
cognitive disabilities that prevent their
meaningful participation in the ACCESS
for ELLs assessment.

Online Collection System
1.  Online collection system will be utilized for
first time in 2014-2015.
2.  Assessment of student must be completed by
a certified teacher.
3.  Deadline for submission of evidence on line is
5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2015.
