Hebron Historical Society
Veterans Day Program
October 21, 2016

Friday, November 11th at 10:45 AM
On Friday morning, November 11th at 10:45, the
Hebron Historical Society will sponsor a 30-minute
Veterans Day memorial ceremony on the Common in
Hebron, NH. The program is open to the public
without charge.
The keynote speaker will be Marine Corps Lt. Colonel
(ret.) Val Scarborough.
Supervisors of the checklist will be in session
Saturday, October 29, 2016, 11:00 - 11:30 AM
Town Office Building, 230 Lake Street
for additions and corrections to the checklist.
No additions or corrections shall be made to the
checklist after this session until election day,
November 8, 2016.

Bristol VFW Post 10604 and honored Hebron veterans
will also participate.
Following the ceremony, everyone is invited to enjoy
free refreshments in the Hebron Community Hall
(basement of the Union Congregational Church)
located directly across from the Common and which is
fully handicap-accessible.
The Bristol Water & Sewer Department will be
flushing hydrants between October 5th and
October 31st.
You may experience some
discoloration in the water for a short period of

NHDES Encourages Residents to Shower Better
Celebrate Shower Better Month – October 2016
Concord, NH - This October, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) is celebrating
Shower Better Month, as proclaimed by Governor Hassan, by encouraging residents to save water, energy,
and money through showering better. By showering for one minute less, families can save more than 500
gallons of water per year. Better yet, by replacing a showerhead with a WaterSense labeled model, families
can save 2,900 gallons of water per year, the amount of energy to power a home for 13 days, and up to $70 on
utility
bills.
With all of New Hampshire experiencing abnormally dry to extreme drought conditions, New Hampshire
residents are looking for ways to conserve water. “Many people don’t realize that the water fixtures in their
homes are wasting water as well as the energy it takes to pump and heat water. The WaterSense label makes
it easy to choose a more water efficient product that is guaranteed to perform,” said Stacey Herbold, NHDES
Water Conservation Program.
WaterSense labeled products have been certified to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) water
efficiency and performance criteria. Prior to 1994, manufactured showerheads flowed at 3.5 to 5 gallons per
minute. New standards require showerheads to flow at no more than 2.5 gallons per minute. The WaterSense
Program has gone a step further by successfully challenging manufacturers to design high-performing
products that use twenty percent less water than standard models. If you see the WaterSense label on
showerhead packaging or with the online product information, you are guaranteed that the showerhead has
been tested to meet strict criteria relative to water efficiency, spray power, and water coverage. WaterSense
labeled products can be found at most home improvement stores and on WaterSense partner websites.

Bristol, New Hampshire, incorporated in 1819, is a beautiful New England town that encompasses the
southern portion of Newfound Lake, the fifth largest lake in the State. Bristol is located just twenty five
miles northwest of Concord, New Hampshire, New Hampshire’s capital. Bristol offers all the benefits of

Bristol has a year round population of approximately 3,300 and a seasonal summer population of
