YOU ARE
INVITED
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
GREETINGS SHIPMATES, FRIENDS AND FAMILY,
As you read this another year has passed.
My wife, Joyce and I hope that all our members and their families had a great
holiday season. We also want to wish all a happy and healthy New Year.
Most of you all know that reverend Andrew Jensen has been under the
weather these past few years and has gone through many treatments to stay well. I spoke to
Reverend Jensen asking if we could come up with a new Chaplain, would he like to step down?
He thanked me and said it would be fine with him.
With the help of our historian, David Graf, we were able to get a new Chaplain from the CG47.
His name is Lieutenant Bret Inman and he actually held the rating of Chaplain while assigned to
the Ticonderoga. He served on board in the early to mid-90’s as Tico’s first command Chaplain.
I want to welcome Chaplain Inman to the Ticonderoga association family.
As we go forward into 2015 we are look forward to another good year and the upcoming reunion
in Minneapolis during the week of May 14, 2015 – May 18, 2015. John Dupont, Art and Kris
Casello, have been working very hard to make this year’s reunion another great success.
In ending, please remember our troops who are serving our country at home and abroad. God
Bless them and America.
Lloyd Frank
MEMBERS – we now have CG-47 Christmas Ornaments and are available for all members
to buy. As some of you were at the commissioning and at reunions where you got to tour
the ship we wanted you to know about this. To order just go to www.bigt.net and click on
ship store link. Then click on the color picture of the CG and scroll down to the bottom to
see the pictures. If you are not ordering on line then go back and click on the word Cruiser

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY FOR ARMED
FORCES REUNIONS, INC.
For attendees canceling reunion activities prior to the cut-off
date, Armed Forces Reunions, Inc. (AFR) shall process a full
refund less the non-refundable AFR registration fee ($10 per
person). Attendees canceling reunion activities after the cutoff date will be refunded to the fullest extent that AFR’s vendor
commitments and guarantees will allow, less the nonrefundable AFR registration fee. Cancellations will only be
taken Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 5:00pm
Eastern Standard Time, excluding holidays. Please call (757)
625-6401 to cancel reunion activities and obtain a cancellation
code. Refunds processed 4-6 weeks after reunion. Canceling
your hotel reservation does not cancel your reunion activities.
The day begins at the Minnesota Wing of the
Commemorative Air Force Museum, home to
several aircraft, a large motor pool fleet, and a
unique collection of World War II artifacts. Get up
close and ‘into’ planes such as the B-25 J Mitchell,
Vultee BT-13 Valiant, and the Ryan PT-22 Recruit.
Volunteer staff members are onsite to answer
questions and tell you about the displays. Of
course, there is a PX onsite (gift shop), so save a
few minutes to shop as well. For lunch, we’ll stop
at Grand Avenue, “Minnesota’s most notable
avenue.” This area is home to many different
restaurants and shops, each with lots of variety and
unique characteristics. Choose to grab a quick
sandwich to save time for shopping or enjoy a
leisurely lunch at a full-service restaurant, maybe
even in the open air! After lunch, embark on the
famous crook's tour! Explore the sites of nightclubs,
kidnappings, and gun battles associated with the
1930's gangsters like John Dillinger, Ma Barker and
Babyface Nelson. See the sights where the
gangsters lived it up as they planned and executed
some of the most notorious crimes ever perpetrated
in the upper Midwest. Your costumed-guide will
take you past the most infamous gangster hideouts
and the famous nightclubs where many gangsters
spent time socializing with the public.

SHIPMATES! NOW HEAR THIS!
We are always looking for Memorabilia for our Museum Rooms. Soon we will be starting
one at the Mississippi Maritime and Warship Museum in Pascagoula, MS so keep us in mind
as we will be starting with very little memorabilia. One thing we would like to find is some
Military Payment Certificates "Funny Money" that was used to pay us during the Viet Nam
war. If you have anything you want to donate contact Ed Trotter at [email protected].
Thanks for your help in keeping our memories alive to others through our Museum Rooms.
