Our CarePortal ministry parishioners

One item at a time; one family at a
time! SPX has been dubbed,
a "Model Church" for CarePortal in AZ
and across the country!
Between May 25 and Oct. 5, SPX has
kept 118 children with their families
and spent approximately $9,900 to
make it happen!
To keep this ministry flourishing,
please consider responding to the
following needs:
1. Prayers! Pray for this ministry to
fulfill the will of God. Pray for each
other to discern God's will and desire
for you. Pray for the families in Pima
County to find hope and assistance to
stay together!
2. Your availability once a week to help
move furniture, assist with a delivery,
or make a delivery with another
parishioner. Not all deliveries are big
furniture items.
3. Muscle to move the big stuff. We
really need help from younger, stronger
people to deliver.
4. A storage room about the size of an
RV storage garage. We are in a position
of receiving FOR FREE an unlimited
number of mattresses. We need some
place to put all these beds and
mattresses by Nov. 1.

Q&A Group will be hosting an
educational Medicare workshop
addressing Health Care Reform and the
impact to Medicare. We will address
those changes as well as the new
changes and options for 2017. Open
enrollment for Medicare beneficiaries
begins October 15 and ends on
December 7, 2016. Come join Q&A to
learn how your current Medicare plan
will be impacted for 2017.
Prayer Blanket Ministry
St. Joseph’s Hospital has urgent need for prayer blankets.
Prayer blankets (given to patients in intensive care
and/or at end of life) provide comfort and healing to the
patients and their families during one of life’s most
difficult journeys.
The knitted, crocheted or sewn blankets
(45 x 60 inches in size) embody our thoughts and prayers for the receiver and are
a comforting remembrance for the family members.
These blankets are presented along with a special blessing ceremony to patients
and their loved ones by the priest or chaplain at the hospital and exemplify an
expression of God’s love and comforting embrace.
Anyone who can make these prayer blankets can drop them off at the
St. Pius X office.
This Prayer Blanket Ministry shares your love and prayers with those who are
critically ill. Additional information is available in the office.
