1. Tile
2.
There are three different tiles used as flooring
in this project. The first tile type will be a simple
square white tile that will be used around the
outside of the pool.
7.
2. Tile
The second type of tile will be used inside the pool.
The tile will be colorful and fun. There will be a clear
difference between the white tile and the tile inside
of the pool to prevent any accidents that could occur.
5.
3. Tile
3.
The final type of tile will be used in the locker
rooms. It will be in a basket woven design with
a co-ed color scheme of black and white. Tile is
used in all places that water will be expected.
4.
6. Elevator
4. Marble
An elevator is added along with a few other handicap accessible options in the
building. The elevator is useful in a two story building not only for the handicap,
but for everyone.
Marble will be used in the bathrooms that aren't
a part of the locker rooms. Marble gives a room
a sleek look. With marble being naturally resistant
to bacteria, it is a perfect option for a bathroom.
5. Triple Pane Windows
Triple pane windows are an energy efficient option
They will be used on all of the windows. Triple pane
windows will prevent any unwanted air to leave the
building and any wanted air to stay inside the
building. The windows reduce energy bills immensely.
7. Stucco
Stucco will be used on exterior walls. It is an eco friendly option for an exterior
finish. It prevents rotting by resisting water vapor from getting to the interior
and improves the air quality inside the building.

Temperature
As you can see in the table above, January is the coldest month of the year
and July is the warmest month of the year. Quakertown generally has cold
winter months when the sun is at its weakest and has warm summer months
when the heat index is a lot warmer and the sun is at its strongest.
4.
Interior
Precipitation
It precipitates the most in June with an average of 4.7 inches and
precipitates the least in February with an average of 2.7 inches. However,
that has a very small effect on the grounds and buildings of Quakertown.
Heat Index
The average heat index for Quakertown is 4. Compared to the United
State's 4.3, it was in the middle of the pack in terms of the heat index.
1. Stucco
Stucco is a sustainable exterior finish because it is a water-shedding,
fire-resistant, hard, impact-resistant, and color-retentive exterior finish.
It is resistant to fungus and rotting, which means it reduces unwanted
odor indoors.
2. Wood-Sheathing
Residents
Population
8,979 people live in Quakertown Pennsylvania.
Gender
48.9% of Quakertown is male, which means 51.1% are female.
Age
Wood sheathing is important to the structure of the wall because
it adds strength to the wall which helps to fight against natural
forces. It reduces flexing that causes drywall problems. It also
provides a noise barrier to block out unwanted sounds.
3. Wood-Stud Layer
A wood stud layer is essential for the exterior wall. The layer provides
the wall with the insulation needed for a proper tight building structure.
4. Gypsum Wallboard
Gypsum wallboard is used for a flat surface for paint or wallpaper. Gypsum
wallboard is more commonly known as drywall or plasterboard.
The average age of Quakertown residents is 36.2 and the
average family size is 3.11 people.
Air Flow
Handicap Accessibility
High Ceilings
High ceilings contribute to the exceptional air flow in the
building. Hot air rises and with high ceilings the hot air will
make the area comfortable and the quality of air superb.
Windows
Triple Pane Windows
Triple pane windows are used to keep a tight building structure.
The windows keep all interior air inside the building and all the
unwanted air outdoors.
Window Placement
Window placement is key for air flow. Windows are
strategically placed higher on the walls to let the space
be more comfortable and let the air flow correctly. It also
brings in a lot of natural light which is good for cutting back
on energy
Floor plans
Elevator
Elevators allow handicap people to easily travel to
or from the first floor to or from the second floor.
Ramps
There is a ramp leading into the building. It is
located right next the staircase. It's separated into
two parts so its easier for a wheelchair to maneuver.
Wide Hallways
Wide hallways are shown throughout the building.
This allows two people in wheelchairs to move
through the building with ease.
Floor plans are important for air flow. The open floor plan in
this design will ensure proper air flow. A lot of walls will cause
the air to be trapped. However, in this building design, the
open layout allows air to flow freely.
Roof Plan
The roof plan was important for the air flow of the building. At
the sun's peak, it will be shining on the western side of the building.
The roof is set up so the slant will be highest on the western side and
slant downward towards the eastern side of the building. The sun will
heat the building from the west and move through the building eastward.
The cooler air from the west will even air flow out and provide a comfortable space.
Miscellaneous
Miscellaneous handicap accessibility will be available
throughout the building. There will be handicap accessible
parking, bathrooms, and doorways, and seating.
