PROGRAM
The TALK Accelerated Pathway Program offers international students the chance to obtain both a U.S. high school
diploma and university bachelor’s degree in just four years! Our partners in this program are Maur Hill-Mount Academy,
a U.S. private high school, and Benedictine College, a top-ranked university by US News and World Report magazine.
The program has two simple steps: Students complete their American high school senior year at Maur Hill-Mount
Academy for their high school diploma, then enroll at Benedictine College to complete a bachelor’s degree.
The excellent standards and support at both educational institutions focus on reaching the students’ educational goals,
graduating and obtaining a position in their chosen profession. The curriculum is adapted and personalized to suit
international students’ needs so that they are prepared to succeed at every level. Each student is assigned an academic
advisor throughout the Accelerated Pathway Program.
In order to enroll in the program, students only need to complete one application at the start of the senior high school year.

Maur Hill-Mount Academy is a Catholic prep school in Atchison, Kansas rooted in the Benedictine tradition.
Its population includes over 200 students from around the world.
An average class has 17 students with one teacher to every nine students.
It has produced numerous alumni who have become extremely successful in just about every walk of life. Their alumni
include CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies, doctors, lawyers, dentists, engineers, TV producers, teachers, coaches and more.
Many alumni reference the discipline, work ethic, academic rigor, faith and community they experienced at Maur
Hill-Mount Academy as a main reason for their success.

Benedictine College is located in Atchison, Kansas, on a beautiful 120 acre campus overlooking the Missouri River.
The student population is over 1900 and offers more than 35 majors, including one of only 70 Astronomy programs in the USA!
The university’s commitment to the development of individuals within the community provides their students with principles, knowledge and skills for a life of learning, leadership and service.

Sports and Extracurricular Activities
Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Benedictine College are located in a
small, safe and strong community in America’s Heartland. Atchison,
Kansas is located just 45 minutes from Kansas City, which was ranked
as one of “American’s Best Downtowns” by Forbes magazine.
The city is the home of many professional sports teams, including
the Kansas City Chiefs (American football) and the Kansas City
Royals (baseball).
Both campuses provide a variety of on-campus and local activities in
which students can interact and enhance their American experience.
Academics
Maur Hill-Mount Academy provides a well-rounded curriculum
offering grade-level requirements and numerous electives. The
electives are made available so that students may pursue areas of
study in which they have a personal interest. Advanced placement
courses are offered in many areas. AP credit can be earned either by
taking the course and passing the exam or by paying for the Benedictine College credits, which are offered at a discount. TOEFL, SAT and
ACT preparation are included for all students, as per the requirement
for entry into Benedictine listed on the Conditional Letter of Acceptance.
Benedictine College offers a classic liberal arts education. The
university’s well-rounded curriculum guides students and helps them
improve their desire for knowledge and truth, appreciate major
achievements in thought and culture, and understand the principles
of sound theoretical and practical judgment.
Benedictine’s general education program centers on core, foundation and skills/perspectives courses. In addition to fulfilling general
education requirements, each student will choose an academic
major in order to specialize in their field.
Both schools offer a wide variety of sports, clubs and activities:
Maur Hill-Mount Academy offers sports and activities throughout the
year. Sports include soccer, American football, tennis, and golf.
Clubs include the Art Club, International Club, Math Club, National
Honor Society, Science Club, House Council and yearbook.
Benedictine College offers intramural sports including basketball,
dodgeball, flag football (American), soccer and volleyball. The
university also has many clubs and organizations on campus, such
as Black Monks Rugby, International Club, Medical Explorers and
Student Government Association.
