PH 700 is a high carbon-chrome type for impact
and severe abrasion and has good resistance to
scaling and corrosion in high temperatures. It can be
deposited directly on to mild steel or low alloy steel,
austenitic manganese steel. However, when the
base metal is hardenable or high alloy, a buffer layer
of PH 56S, PH 77 or the stainless alloy RSP may be
necessary. Typical undiluted hardness 62Rc.

Abrasocord 43 deposits extremely abrasion-resistant
chromium/niobium carbides, which also have moderate
to heavy impact resistance. The electrode has a very
high deposition efficiency of 190%. Typical applications
are the cement and brick industries, crushing, general
earth moving, mining and agricultural industries. A
buffer layer of RSP or 56S or 77 is recommended.
Typical undiluted hardness of 64-69Rc.

AC 50V or DC+
Was developed to give very good strengths at
elevated temperatures combined with corrosion
resistance, high toughness and wear resistance. The
special coating gives porosity free, dense deposits
with little or no spatter. Welds are deposited at
highest possible speed with least amount of base
metal heat, using very low amperages. Tensile 825
MPa with high anti-cracking properties.

This deposits a weld metal of an austenetic-ferritic
structure which is highly resistant to cracking. Hence
its use where combinations of metals could cause
cracks by other methods. Weldwell RSP is also used
to weld creep resistant steels such as 5% Cr-0.5% Mo,
where no PWHT can be applied. For joining mild to
stainless steel. Very good for repair welding.

This rutile electrode exhibits unusual properties
for a general purpose type. It deposits a weld
metal which is “similar” to the low-hydrogen type.
Welding is easily done in the vertical, overhead and
downhand positons, whilst the weld metal gives
excellent X-ray and mechanical results. Ideal for
prime work involving piping and structures. Not
suitable for vertical down welding. ABS Grade 3.
