February -Happy Anniversary to:
Mo & Judy Beardslee 22nd;
Cares & Concerns
Please keep the following in your thoughts and
prayers: Gale Kneisley -heart;; Ken Culp – knee
problems; Moe Beardslee – cancer; the Weis’s
granddaughter; Archie & Bobbie MacLarty with the
loss of their daughter-in-law who had cancer. Trish
Green – heart; Cliff Chase recovering from sinus
surgery; Richard Jamison – tests.
The Men had a terrific baseball game. Final score
was 21 – 3. Hits were everywhere. Not possible
to explain why the women’s game failed to
appear; just one of those days. I did hear one of
the ladies explain, “We’ll be back!”
Golden Triangle Sams had their monthly January
campout at Paradise Oaks, Bushnell. Yes, we were
there last month but it is not easy to find campgrounds
during the winter season.
Thursday arrivals had pleasant overcast sky
weather and got set up for a relaxing weekend. Some
of us had arrived on Wednesday 12/31 to take
advantage of Paradise Oaks’s New Year Eve’s party.
There was a disc jockey that played a variety of music
so we had a very nice time ringing in the new year.
We had 16 rigs camping and 3 drive ins. Guests:
Joe & Debbie Weston, Jill & Max Campbell and he
Culp family.
Friday morning, bright and early, members
gathered their Crafts, stuff for the “garage” sale and
bake goods and sales proceeded. When it was all said
and done, the Chapter collected about $509.00 to
donate to our favorite charities. Congratulations to
Peggy Hamilton who provided the idea and the
motivation, those who brought their crafts and goods
and everyone who helped.
Friday evening we played games.
Saturday’s breakfast included sausage, gravy
and biscuits and other dishes prepared by the
hosts. At 10:00 AM, President Jim Gonya
conducted the business meeting. There were no
“visitors” but Dale and Phyllis Horn are traveling
through Florida and camped with us. Good to see
them.
Dinner was a delicious barbeque pork cooked by
Tony Hamilton in his cooker at about 225 degrees
most of Saturday. Tony shredded the pork and we had
delicious barbeque sandwiches. Members fixed
blackeye peas, corn dishes, potatoes, and deserts with
one of them being an exceptional ice cream cake
“built’ by Cookie Green.
Sunday morning was sweet things to share with
more visiting and good-byes until next month. Thanks
to the hosts: Roger & Sharon Hime, Tony & Peggy
Hamilton, Tom & Carolyn DeFina, Ted & Colleen
Litz. Wishing all a very Happy New Year!
