During our 4th season, with our original Farndale…Christmas Carol, there was an unfortunate fire which gutted the LEO Center. We were able to work with LISD and used several of the school campuses for our next three productions, and finished our 4th season with Female Odd Couple in our new temporary home in an old grocery store at the Buttercup Commons. We were able to make Buttercup our home for the next three seasons. Heralding our 20th Season will be the 15th Annual Summer Melodrama Stop the Presses Which begins July 22, 2016. Which has the annoying feature of being visited each year by a slightly destructive witch named Agatha Forbes. Things go along smoothly, so they decide to make a farewell party out of Agatha’s next visit. A crazy aunt, nice looking doctor and his mother, a self-proclaimed medium and the local newspaper’s star reporter are all invited. But all gaiety vanishes when the witch arrives in a cloud of smoke and bad temper. Impatient from the outset, Agatha makes no bones about the fact that she wants everyone out of the house. As no one will cooperate, she then exercises her special powers and casts a spell which, to every one's dismay, makes them actually become, temporarily, as they secretly wish themselves to be. The results are uproarious. Fortunately, they discover (in the nick of time) how to free Agatha from her house-haunting obligation. COMEDY: The inhabitants of Texas’ smallest trailer fight the a town who wants to annex them. With everything else they’re dealing with: being passed over again for a work promotion. Attempting to keep a feisty mother out of the local bar. Trying to keep Baby from taking his participation in a womanless beauty pageant way too seriously. Curbing the impulse to take in every stray cat, possum, and armadillo that wanders by. Being frustrated by the clients at the Stairway To Heaven Retirement Village. Constantly battling with the curmudgeon from across the road, who loathes their “trailer-trash” ways. But these friends, enemies, and neighbors realize they’ll have to work together if they have a snowball’s chance to survive being swallowed up by “the big guys.” The rollicking mayhem of this flat-out funny comedy escalates as the residents attempt to secede from Texas, discover a traitor in their midst, and turn the tables in a surprising and side-splitting finale. So come on over to Doublewide, where life is double the fun, double the joy, and more than double the laughter! COMEDY: A career-driven wife Suzannah, needs a lot more help on the home front than she's getting from her husband, Gibby. Enter Beth as the newly-hired assistant, a gregarious, highlymotivated woman who whips the household into an organized, well-run machine – at the perfect time. Suzannah’s, boss is flying in from London for an important make-or-break business dinner. Gibby grows increasingly wary as Beth insinuates herself into more and more aspects of their lives, and into Suzannah’s career. Beth is given carte blanche to change anything in the household that "will make it run more efficiently." And the change Beth makes is convincing Suzannah that Gibby must go! When he realizes it's Suzannah's career Beth is really after, a newly-determined Gibby sets out to save his marriage aided by Suzannah's best friend, Margo, and his best friend, Hank. Their effort to stop Beth goes uproariously awry just as the boss arrives for that all-important dinner.
