“Notes from Fr. Bill”
WELCOME
We welcome María Shaffer to our parish team as
Business Manager. María comes to us with
experience in small business management and accounting, and is fluent in Spanish and English.
FR. FORTEA
Fr. Fortea is author of the book Interview with an
Exorcist, and will be here at St. Therese on June 6th and
7th. This is an excellent opportunity to hear him speak of
his experiences in this very special ministry and perhaps
clarify misunderstandings we might have as regards
exorcisms. Monday evening Fr. will speak in Spanish,
and Tuesday in English; we will begin with celebration of
the Mass at 7:00 pm and follow with a time for
“questions and answers.”
GRADUATES
On behalf of our parish community I want to
congratulate all of our young people who are graduating,
both those who are moving from 8th grade to high school
and our high school graduates.
This past Wednesday we celebrated graduation at
Xavier High School, and this Wednesday I’ll be celebrant
and homilist at St. Joseph Middle School graduation Mass
and ceremony.

My name is Maria Shaffer and I’m the new
business manager.
I want to tell you about myself, and the
first thing is to tell you that I love the
Lord. He is my
guidance and my help every day.
I was born in Guatemala City on 1952,
and when I was 24, I came to the United
States. I’ve been here for 34 years. About
five years ago, we moved from
Washington State to the Fox Valley.
My husband, Robert and I have two kids, a girl and a boyall grown up, now. Our daughter has twin girls and one
boy, and that’s the reason we moved here-to be closer to
them and to help them. Our son has three girls. He’s in the
army and has been to Iraq two times. He’s currently stationed at Fort Lewis in
Washington State.
I love to sing and I’m in our church choir. I also love to
dance (Salsa!) and to do crafts.
Come by and say hello when you get a chance. I look
forward to making lots of new friends!

María viene con experiencia en manejar pequeño
negocios y contabilidad, y habla español e inglés.
PADRE FORTEA
Padre Fortea es autor del libro Entrevista con un
Exorcista, y estará aquí en Santa Teresita el 6 y 7 de
junio. Esta es un excelente oportunidad a escuchar de
sus experiencia en este ministerio tan especial y quizás
clarificar dudas que uno tenga en cuanto a lo del
exorcismo. El lunes en la noche Padre hablará en
español, y el martes en inglés; comenzaremos con la
celebración de la Misa a las 7:00 p.m. y luego habrá
momento para “preguntas y respuestas.”
GRADUADOS
En nombre de toda nuestra comunidad parroquial
quiero extender felicitaciones a todos nuestros jóvenes
que están graduando, o del 8° curso o del secundaria.
Este miércoles pasado celebramos graduación en
Xavier High School, y este miércoles voy a ser
celebrante de la Misa de graduación en St. Joseph
Middle School.

Quiero decirles algo de mi persona, y lo
primero es para decirles que yo tengo
mucho amor para Dios, el es mi guiador
y mi ayudador cada dia.J
Yo naci en la ciudad de Guatemala, y a

la razon que nos trasladamos aqui, para estar cerca de

Nuestro hijo tiene 3 hijas. El está en el army y ha
estado en Iraq 2 veces. El por ahora esta estacionado
en Fort Lewis y su familia in Washington State.
Me gusta cantar y yo participo en el coro de nuestra
Iglesia, me gusta bailar (salsa) y tambien hago crafts.
Pase por mi oficina a saludar cuando tenga tiempo, me
dara mucho gusto in conocerle y hacer nuevas
amistades.

ESTUDIO DE BIBLIA en el salón de la familia,
impartido por el Padre Bill, los sábados a las
8 am. ¡Ven y conoce más de tu religión!

ELIZABETH MINISTRY
Find out more about becoming an Elizabeth Ministry Retreat & Resource Center Volunteer! We're seeking local people who are interested
in helping at the Elizabeth Ministry International Retreat & Resource
Center. (Located in the former St. Mary’s Kaukauna Convent.) Elizabeth
Ministry offers hope and healing to women and their families on issues
related to childbearing, sexuality and relationships. We need people to
help with Eucharistic Adoration, welcoming guests, housekeeping, gift
shop, computer and website, artwork, facilitators, data entry or bookkeeping and more. (Skills in Microsoft office or Quickbooks would be
wonderful!) To learn more, join us on Tuesday, May 31st at 6:30 p.m.

we need to be courageous in speaking the truth and in talking about our Faith. Share with your children how they
can do that.
29. Wisconsin became the 30th state in 1848 – As a family, find out who the patroness of the State of Wisconsin is
and offer a special prayer asking for her intercession for
the needs of our state.
30. Memorial Day – a day to remember those who have
given their life in defense of our country and to pray for
the families and friends they have left behind. It is also the
Feast of St. Joan of Arc who happens to be the patroness
for both the WAVES (women who volunteered to be part
of the Navy during WWII) and the WAC’s (Women’s
Army Corp).
31. Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary – is
anyone in your family, friends or parish expecting a child?
This would be a day to go visit them and to see if there is a
way you can help out. Have your children come up with
some ideas on what they might be able to do to help out .
1. Feast of St. Justin – if you have to give a speech, this is
a great saint to ask for help. He is the patron of speakers.
2. Feast of St. John de Ortega – a pilgrim, road builder,
hermit, and bridge builder. Ask your children how many
things they would like to do to help other people.
3. First U.S. Spacewalk by Ed White in 1965 – do you
know who the patron saint is of astronauts?
