Saw Tip Grades for Woodworking Applications
Grades
Applications
DC03 and DZ05 extra fine grain grades offer extended tool life and superior surface finish of the working material even in the
most demanding applications. The combination of toughness and hardness is engineered to offer the best performance in a
wide range of applications. These grades have got improved corrosion resistance by means of a unique alloyed binder phase.
DC03
DC03 offers superior wear resistance for MDF and HDF board applications.
The alloyed binder content improves the corrosion resistance.
DZ05
DZ05 offers high toughness and wear resistance. This grade is perfectly adapted to demanding
cutting applications in MDF board where long tool life and surface finish are important.
The DH family of grades has been specially engineered to offer high customer value with the best combination of high
cutting performance and flexible manufacturing. These grades offer good brazeability and grindability, high toughness,
improved thermal properties and edge retention.
DH10*
DH10 covers a large application area for portable and fixed saws and materials such as MDF board
and Laminated Particle Board.
DH20*
This grade with high toughness is recommended for Laminated Particle Boards and MDF. DH20 offers
reliability and dependability. This grade can be used for professional as well as do-it-yourself tools.
DH30*
DH30 is recommended for Hard Wood and Laminated Particle Boards as it offers high toughness with
reliability and dependability. This grade can be used for professional as well as do-it-yourself tools.
DH40*
DH40 is designed for the primary wood industry. It can be used in all natural woods for any
type of cutting application and hence offers great flexibility of use.
DH45*
DH45, offers improved toughness for use in demanding cutting applications such as frozen wood with
knots, resin balls, and wood with metal inclusions.

Woodworking Quick Reference Strips Guide
Strip Grades for Woodworking Applications
Grades
DZ05
Applications
DZ05 offers extended tool life and superior surface finish of the working material even
in the most demanding applications. The combination of toughness and hardness is
engineered to offer the best results in a wide range of applications. This grade has got
improved corrosion resistance by means of a unique alloyed binder phase.
DH10*
DH10 covers a very large area of applications ranging from Laminated Particle Board to
MDF. DH10 has a good corrosion resistance due to its content of alloyed binder.
H10F
H10F is the prime choice grade for RW strips when high cutting edge quality is a key
factor. This grade allows the toolmaker to reach very good cutting edge quality leading
to high surface quality of the working material.
H10F is an extra fine grain grade. This grade offers a very good balance of high wear
resistance and edge retention. H10F is a very versatile grade.
H10F can be used in all kinds of natural and abrasive woods for any type of cutting
application and hence offers great flexibility of use.
DK20
DK20 is a multipurpose grade for all strip applications. DK20 is a medium grain grade
offering high performance to cost ratio. DK20 is versatile and covers a large application
area.
DH30*
DH30 is recommended for Hard Wood and Laminated Particle Boards. It is a reliable
and consistent grade with high toughness. DH30 also offers good grindability.

Blanks for Band Saws
Sandvik Hard Materials launch a new range
of cylinders and ball blanks for specialist
applications. This new product offering is
designed for use in the manufacture of Carbide
tipped bandsaw blades, and covers the most
popular used dimensions. Products can be
supplied in both cylinder & ball form, dependent on customer preference.
NEW
As production times have decreased, the
demand to supply ready to “bond“ parts has
become an important product requirement.
Sandvik now offer products suitable for “resistance welding“, and offer ready to use products with either
a Cobalt or Nickel surface treatment.
Carbide grade selection is an important feature in finished product performance, and Sandvik over a
number of years has carried out extensive testing before before selecting H10F.
H10F is an extra-fine cemented carbide grade covering the ISO K20/K30 range. This grade has been
specially designed to combine good grindability and high strength, so that sharp edge profiles and high
toughness may be achieved.
H10F exhibits excellent brazing and resistance welding properties.
Due to its extra-fine WC grain size (0.80µm), H10F provides out-standing wear resistance in a wide range
of applications, including the cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites and non-metallic
materials of all types.

ENGINEERED COMPONENTS
Cemented carbide is often the only material that can satisfactorily withstand wear in
addition to deformation, impact, heavy load, high pressure, corrosion and high
temperature. In this area, Sandvik Hard Materials provide the industry with
carbide components such as seal rings, bearings, pistons, valves and nozzles.
