#2 John Austin married 31 May 1731, supposedly died in the Expedition
against Crown Point in 1757; #4 John Austin died 16 or 17 Apr. 1752;
#8 Robert Austin died before 1687, resided in Kings Town, R.I. 15 Sept.
1661. The positive proofs that Robert was the father of this family
are lacking but the belief is thought to be well founded. #4 John is
supposed to have married Mary, surname unknown. (Ref E.A.Moore's book
on Robert Austin, pages 11, 436 & 437).

Isaiah Grinnell, born 1732, may have served in the battle of Bennington c::
as an unenrolled member of Col. Simonds Berkshire County, Massachu~
setts Regiment. A lot of the farmers in the area were fighting for their~
homes and were never found to be on the official rolls. (Ref. A. L.

Add to James Simpson-Mercy Grinnell family from pl5, 1790 N.Y. State
Census (1-2-2-0-0) and from 1800 census, Providence, Saratoga, N.Y.
(l-0-0-l-0/2-l-0-1-0-0). Page 15-of the 1790 census is for Ballstown,
Saratoga County.
Add under 16 August 1777 the location of the Battle of Bennington. It
was located just east of Walloomsac on N.Y. Route 67 about 4 miles
northeast of Hoosi~Falls, N.Y. (Ref. Thurmeister 1 s, Landmarks of the
American Revolution in N.Y. State, 1972).

who came to America from Romsey Hants, England, in 1635 and settled in !:"'

Kittery, Maine. His daughter Rebecca Emory married first Robert Weytt:l
mouth, second Thomas Sadler and third Daniel Eaton of Little Compton.

A son of Rebecca by the second marriage, Joseph Sadler, assumed his

mother's maiden name when he ran away to sea. He married Elizabeth

Washburne, daughter of Philip and Elizabeth (Irish) Washburne of Bridge-~
