Reggae artist Biblical’s 8th
album. Releasing on February
14th, 2014, Biblical’s Hold Firm
Natty was recorded in Jamaica.
Produced by veteran Jamaican producer Andrew "Bassie"
Campbell, and features legendary musicians such as Leroy
"Horsemouth" Wallace, Squidly Cole, Chinna Smith,
Sticky Thompson, Paul “Right Move” Crosdale, and
more. This innovative album also contains riddim-driven songs
with Jamaican singers Derajah, Doniki, Louie Culture,
Lucozade, & Steve Tolluch alongside Biblical.
Andrew “Bassie” Campbell, the producer of the project describes the
album as uptempo RAW ROOTS with a timely message for all. When
asked to elaborate about some of the tracks from the album he stated:
“Hold Firm Natty is a driving, pulsating new roots anthem which aims
to remind all to stay firmly rooted in dignity & balance, and not get
caught up. Hold a Vision is an uplifting heavy drum & bass
collaboration with Steve Tolluch, a powerful message manifested to a
hypnotizing rhythmic beat. Giving Ises (praises) is a spiritual love
song for JAH featuring righteous Rasta singer Derajah in a melodic
modern twist on the old-school singer/DJ style. So much more could
be said, as this album was many years in the making. It puts forward
the very best in musical talent from the studio musicians to the
singers, all with original, heartfelt messages that the people dem NEED
fi hear-seen”.
As a cultural sing jay, Biblical embodies the fullness of a singer while
blending chanting and poetic lyrics into one unique style. Biblical is
also a producer, & the co-founder of Oneness-sound, an artistic
collaborative. He has performed live over the past ten years all over
the Northwest USA, Hawaii, and toured with the We ah Dem band,
Lionz of Kush from St. Croix, & in Jamaica as part of the Gather the
Remnant album release tour (Conscious Riddims Records/Andrew
Bassie Records) alongside Niyorah, Ras Iba, Xkaliba, & Roots
Gwaan.
Biblical's lyrics carry ones on a journey of upliftment, reflection, and
affirmation, while the riddims penetrate deep within from start to
