Kelly Spanish Club On European Trip
The Kelly High School Spanish Club, led by teacher Rosalma Mendez and two other instructors
experienced an unforgettable journey through Spain and Italy with stops in Madrid, Zaragoza and
Rome, April 13th to 22nd. The trip was the perfect bridge between topics taught in the classroom and
history from the pages of their textbooks. From the historic birthplace of King Ferdinand of Spain,
who commissioned Christopher Columbus’ trip that led to his discovery of the New World, to the
Sistine Chapel in Rome, students were able to see many paintings and architecture throughout the
European landscape. Pictured in front row: Nancy Ocampo, Patricia Trejo, Maria Cruz, Pedro
Martinez, Susan Ramirez and Ms. Moore. Back row: Korina Meza, Karina Pintor, Bianca Marquez,
