Secretary Cathy Behn made the exciting announcement to 2015 WCS Co-Chairs
Steve Gregg and Tracey Robertson at the
Michigan Great Lakes International Show in
Lansing, Michigan, following a meeting of
the Clydesdale Breeders of the USA Board of
Directors.
With members in 43 states and four countries, the CBUSA is a very influential voice
in the Clydesdale industry and the 2015
WCS Committee is thrilled to have their
support.
“This is a tremendous sponsorship,” CoChair Gregg said. “We are really pleased to
have the Clydesdale Breeders of the USA
involved.”
Class Sponsorship Reaches Halfway Point
With 22 months to go until the
opening ceremonies at the 2015
World Clydesdale Show (WCS),
Class Sponsorship Sales have
more than passed the halfway
point.
According to 2015 WCS Sponsorship Chair Lana Besley, class sales
have been brisk and very encouraging.
“If class sponsorship is any indication of the level of interest in the
World Show, we are all in for an
incredible celebration in London,
Ontario in 2015,” she said.
In addition to the special attractions and activities, there are 84
classes planned for the five day
show scheduled for September 29,
to October 3, 2015.
At press time, 49 classes, an impressive 58 per cent of those 84,
had received a commitment by
sponsors from Canada, France,
Scotland and the United States.
“The enthusiasm and generosity
from sponsors in these early days
of planning has been a real boost
for the 2015 WCS Committee. We
are all so grateful for the support,”
Ms. Besley said.
With less than half of the classes
remaining there is no time like the
present to book your class. The
2015 WCS Committee has an installment payment plan and there
are still some great classes to be
had. All the information is available

Border Crossing 101: Coming to Canada, eh?
The 2015 World Clydesdale Show
(WCS) Committee is counting on the
participation of many great quality
horses from the USA, and plans to
offer as much information as possible
on border crossing to its American
friends.
The Committee recognises the concerns surrounding the border, and
member Gerald Wismer is collecting
information that he plans to share
with American Clydesdale owners in
the coming months as we approach
the show date
Presently, there are a few simple requirements to enter Canada from the
United States, as set out by the Canada Border Services Agency and the
Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
For
individuals,
Page 2
American
citizens
require either an Enchanced Driver’s
Licence or an American Passport for
your return to the United States.
Proof of your American citizenship
and photo identification is required to
cross the Canadian border, but you
will require an American Passport or
Enhanced Driver’s Licence to return
home after your stay in Canada.
For more information about these
documents contact US Customs and
Border Protection services on the web
at www.cbp.gov or by phone at 1-877227-5511. You can contact the Canada Border Services Agency on the web
at www.cbsa.gc.ca, or by phone at 1204-983-3500 or email at [email protected].
If you are planning to bring horses to
the 2015 World Clydesdale Show and
take them back home, they will enter
Canada on a “temporary stay”.
The present regulations require that
prior to your departure date for the
show, the owner contact their state
Animal and Plant Health Inspection
Branch and request an “export certificate”.
An accredited veterinarian
from the United States Department of
Agriculture will inspect the horse and
then issue a certificate which will
then be endorsed by the local Veterinary Services office. Once the certificate is approved, the horse will then
be permitted to enter Canada for a
temporary stay.
A coggins test will also be required for
the show.
More information about bringing
horses to Canada from the United
States is available on the Animal and
Plant Health Inspection Service website, www.aphis.usda.gov/.

BECOMING A 2015 WORLD SHOW BARN BUDDY
In an effort to make
sponsorship of the World
Show accessible to as
many as possible, the
2015 World Clydesdale
Show Committee (WCS)
has developed a new level
of participation — the
2015 World Clydesdale
Show Barn Buddy.
As with other levels of
sponsorship, the benefit of
sponsoring early is receiving a lengthier period of
recognition for your commitment.
You can become a 2015
World Clydesdale Show
Barn Buddy with a onetime
payment of $200 at one of
our booths at various
shows and sales in Canada
and the USA. You can also
email the 2015 WCS Committee for more information
on all levels of sponsorship
and
the
show
at
[email protected].
According to Co-Chair
Tracey Robertson, the
Barn Buddy program is a
new initiative meant to
make sponsorship an
option for many.
For a $200 commitment
to the 2015 WCS, sponsors become a Barn Buddy of the show. They will receive an
exclusive T-Shirt, and their name
will be published on the website, in
the 2015 WCS newsletter, Countdown to London — 2015, and will be
published at the show.
“It works out to $100 a year and we
hope that makes sponsorship an
option for everyone,” Co-Chair Robertson said.
Information is also available
on our World Show website,
www.2015worldclydesdaleshow.com.
We look forward to buddying up with
you soon!
We Can’t Do It Without You...
It is often said that volunteers are
the key to the success of any great
organization, and this will certainly
be true of the 2015 World Clydesdale Show (WCS).
tee members to figure out what jobs
need volunteers, and is also compiling a list of people willing to help
make the World Show a resounding
success.
From selling merchandise, to parking vehicles, from barn staff to
chauffeuring dignitaries — there
will be many, many positions to fill
at the 2015 World Clydesdale Show.
With less than two years
until the start of the first
class, the need for volunteers
is
becoming
more and more important, so the 2015
WCS Committee is asking for your help.
If you are planning on attending the show, or are
able to help prior to the
show please contact Mss.

aspirations for what would be the first World Show in
Canada in 16 years. Since that first meeting there have
been many accomplishments and the members are more
focused than ever on the colossal job ahead.
Day 729 was an important milestone for the 2015 World
Clydesdale Show (WCS) Committee — it marked the two
year anniversary until the start of the very first class at
the fast approaching show.
The 2015 World Clydesdale Show will not only be a celebration of the best of the breed, but also a manifestation
of the best of Canadian hospitality.
Coincidently, it was also two years ago, in September
2011, that the committee first met and discussed their
