Day 1
Fly to Costa Rica
Today you fly to Costa Rica and the
capital city of San Jose. Located in
the geographic center of the country
in Central America’s (and Western
Hemispheres) most narrow land mass, it
connects North and South America. San
Jose is perfect for Legendary Journeys
Hub & Spoke tour as the Pacific is just
60 miles away and Caribbean is just 10
miles away. So your seven night hotel
stay allows you to unpack ONCE and
then enjoy day trips to two oceans, the
rain forest, mountains & volcanoes and
more. Upon arrival, you are transferred
to your first class (4 star) city center
Balmoral Hotel (or similar). The Balmoral
is walking distance to San Jose major
sights and will serve as your home for
your entire stay.
Day 2
Sarchi Mountain Experience
& San Jose
Breakfast included this morning. Today
you immerse yourself in authentic
Costa Rican culture on your escorted
sightseeing. Begin with a tour into the
Central Mountains to the artisan village
of Sarchi, where the famous oxcarts
are built. You will have the opportunity
to tour the fascinating factories and
watch how the carts are constructed.
Splendidly decorated in various sizes,
these oxcarts are treasured for their
unique beauty. This beautiful mountain
village is in the heart of the Costa Rican
Rain Forest and you will find the best
shipping available in Costa Rica. In the
afternoon, return to San Jose’s best
sites including the magnificent Opera
House, the pride and joy of Costa Rica.
Other sights will include the University of
Costa Rica, Sabana Park, the National
Museum of Pre-Columbian art, the
National Theater and more. Return to
the hotel in the late afternoon. Tonight
enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel with
live musical entertainment.
Day 3
Costa Rica at Leisure
Breakfast is included today. You enjoy a
day for your own choices and pursuits.

Day 4
Caribbean Coast
& Tortuguero National Park
Breakfast is included today. Today as you
head East to the Caribbean and Atlantic
Ocean. Your expedition through the dense
jungle to one of the most scenic regions of
Costa Rica. En route to the Caribbean you
travel through Braulio Carillo National Park
as you pass mountains, numerous rivers
and waterfalls. Upon arrival at Tortuguero
National Park you board a boat and sail
throughout the network of lagoons and
your knowledgeable guide will tell you
about the wildlife. The park’s secluded,
black sand beaches are some of the most
important green turtle breeding grounds.
You will also get a chance to see sloths,
howler monkeys, iguanas and more. You
arrive back in San Jose in late afternoon.
Day 5
Costa Rica at Leisure
Breakfast is included today. You enjoy a
day for your own choices and pursuits.

Day 6
Pacific Coast & Manuel Antonio
National Park
Breakfast is included today. You will head
West today and across the Continental
divide (which is only 150 miles wide).
This super scenic journey will travel
to the Pacific Coast as you spend the
day exploring one of Costa Rica’s most
beautiful attractions. Visit Manuel Antonio
National Park, a stunning combination of
beach, tropical forest and beautiful wildlife
including the world famous Crocodiles.
Your guided tour will include a scenic
drive along the Pacific coastline through
photogenic villages. Return to San Jose in
the late afternoon.

downtown San Jose, Costa Rica, right on
Avenida Central, Costa Rica’s most famous
and visited pedestrian-boulevard and only
11 miles away from Juan Santamaria
International Airport, the Balmoral is an
