An endless, fine-grain sand beach that stretches as far as
the eye can see, dotted with pretty blue-and-white wicker
chairs. This open air arena is eight kilometres long, and the
“German Riviera“ branding is not as foolhardy as it may at first
seem, since Kühlungsborn, Mecklenburg‘s largest beach and
wellness resort, ranks high up on the list of sunny locations.
The yacht harbour attracts a steady flow of vacationers and
locals alike, with excellent sailing territory from there to
Warnemünde, offering great winds and attractive destinations. The centrally-located city forest, and the three kilometre
beach promenade is perfect for pleasant evening strolls. All
the lovelier when the sun goes down, lighting up the sky and
the sea with beautiful colours. At the turn of the 19th century,

when Kühlungsborn was still made up of the three villages of
Arendsee, Brunshaupten and Fulgen, wealthy business people
and aristocracy alike built their private residences in this new
seaside resort. This allowed developers to let their architectural
visions run free. Whether they nodded to the Renaissance, or to
the Baroque or Classical ages, the seaside architecture found
playful ways to bring together what had never been combined
before. The only similarity: The villas were all painted with the
characteristic white colour. A trip on the historical steam locomotive train Molli to Doberaner Münster, a 14th century Cistercian cathedral church, is no less impressive. Those looking for
a quiet time can relax in Kühlung, which lies to the South and
offers an enchanted, densely wooded, hilly landscape.

value. With room for 120 guests inside, and an additional 130
outside at Kühlungsborn‘s unique, 800 square metre terrace,

Another highlight for guests is the gourmet breakfast buffet,
open every day until 1 PM.
At Brunshaupten Restaurant, you can enjoy both the fantastic

the hotel, lies the Ostsee Golf Resort Wittenbeck. The 18-hole
Eikhof championship course, with its unusual architecture,

Excursions: Guided bicycle tours, trips on the historical steam
locomotive train Molli from Heiligendamm to Bad Doberan,
for example to the Gothic city of Münster, boat tours of War­
nemünde or Rerik, or a visit to Rostock, Wismar, and Schwerin,
are all easy to organise. The Stralsund Oceanium, the Rostock
Zoo, and the Marlow Bird Park are all easily accessible by car.
Culture: Rösler-Kröhnke studio, cinema, music in the East
Concert Garden, an art space with renowned exhibitions,
concerts and festivals like the Mecklenburg Festival with
different events in the region.
