Los Nietos
Middle School
“A
Supportive
Learning
Community
for
Continuous
Growth”
Los
Nietos
Middle
School
As
principal
of
Los
Nietos
Middle
School
I
take
seriously
that
the
parents
of
the
Los
Nietos
School
District
entrust
their
children’s
education
to
our
care.
It
is
a
trust
that
we
hold
sacred
and
do
not
take
for
granted.
Our
staff
is
committed
to
providing
the
children
of
Los
Nietos
with
the
academic
tools
that
they
need
in
order
to
be
successful
in
high
school,
college,
career
and
life
endeavors.
These
past
two
years
our
small
community
school
has
shown
the
highest
Academic
Performance
Index
(API)
gain
of
any
middle
school
in
the
Whittier
and
Santa
Fe
Springs
area,
with
a
total
growth
of
88
points.
Working
collaboratively
as
a
middle
school
staff,
Los
Nietos
distinguished
itself
as
the
only
middle
school
in
the
Los
Angeles
County
to
exit
out
of
Program
Improvement.
Investing
district
support,
resources,
and
a
whole‐hearted
commitment
to
helping
our
school
to
excel
achieved
this
incredible
feat.
We
are
certain
that
as
our
site
and
district
personnel
work
hand
in
hand
this
year,
we
will
continue
on
our
trajectory
of
academic
achievement,
social
growth,
and
rewarding
experiences
for
all
students.
For
the
past
several
years,
our
focus
has
been
on
improving
the
middle
school’s
academic
programs
as
we
have
improved
and
strengthened
our
elementary
schools.
We
are
pleased
that
the
hard
work
of
the
staff
has
yielded
higher
test
scores,
quality
focused
instruction,
and
a
safe
and
positive
learning
environment.
We
have
much
to
be
proud
of.
Los
Nietos
will
celebrate
its
150th
anniversary
this
spring,
and
Los
Nietos
Middle
School
will
play
a
large
part
in
our
anniversary
celebration.
We
are
submitting
grants,
building
new
community
partnerships,
and
taking
action
to
ensure
that
Los
Nietos
Middle
School
is
a
resource
center
for
all
of
our
community’s
students
and
their
families.
With
two
School
Board
members
as
parents
of
7th
grade
students
this
year,
all
parents
can
be
confident
that
Los
Nietos
Middle
School
will
continue
to
receive
the
care,
resources,
and
support
necessary
to
make
it
one
of
the
best
middle
schools
in
the
Whittier
and
Santa
Fe
Springs
area.
I
would
like
to
invite
you
to
see
our
talented
team
of
educators
and
support
staff
in
action.
Our
high
expectations
for
students,
coupled
with
our
intense
commitment
to
accelerating
growth
in
all
areas
are
evident.
Be
a
part
of
our
“Supportive
Learning
Community
for
Continuous
Growth”
at
Los
Nietos
Middle
School,
home
of
the
mighty
Braves!
Jacqueline
Cardenas,
Principal
