Gets Rave Reviews for Helping Community
Health Center Meet Requirements
THE CLIENT:
Umpqua Community Health Center provides primary medical and dental care at six locations in Oregon.
THE PROBLEM:
A significant portion of Umpqua’s funding comes from federal and state grants, which require recipients to inform
patients about services offered by the clinic and provide education about health and wellness. For many years, Umpqua
relied on printed materials to meet these requirements. “In the past we used flyers. People don’t read them. And then
you have the cost of printing and design,” said Brenda Lewis of Umpqua. Because they’re not digital, printed materials
have the added disadvantage of requiring frequent reprints every time a change needs to be made.
THE SOLUTION:
The clinic wanted a product that would make it easier to inform visitors and provide patient education in a cost effective
way. Umpqua turned to Everwell+Plus, a turnkey solution that’s easy to set up and operate.
Lewis reports that patients’ eyes are “glued to the TVs,” which means they’re more likely to see the announcements she
posts on the screens. Using the Everwell+Plus Web portal, Umpqua can quickly and easily create and schedule
messages to appear alongside Everwell video content. The messages can be displayed almost immediately or based
on a schedule. Umpqua has created messages to increase awareness of the clinic’s services, improve compliance with
prescription refill procedures and answer FAQs, among other important objectives.
Umpqua highly recommends Everwell+Plus to other community health centers as a way to meet requirements and
better serve patients. “I think Everwell+Plus very much fits in with the mission of community health centers.”
