PRESENTS
EL RITMO DE LA VIDA
EL RITMO DE LA VIDA (the rhythm of life) is classical
Spanish with a jazz flair. It is gorgeous ballads, both Latino
and American, plus some great movie music and the
popular gypsy jazz, a la Django Reinhardt. Classical guitarist
Gil Gutierrez is a virtuoso who consistently delivers energetic,
electric performances. Add the soaring trumpet of Doc
Severinsen and the experience is indescribably brilliant.

Doc has the best stage presence of anyone out there. He can
blow a horn like few others...he is a high note virtuoso, a genuinely
funny man, and always a fashion fiend. Severinsen is best known
as bandleader of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He has
since gone on to conduct some of the top symphony orchestras
around the country and has toured the US with his own Big Band.
Since moving to Mexico at the end of 2006, Doc has kept a busy
performance schedule and made a wonderful new discovery in this
talented Mexican guitarist.
BOOKING
Gil has performed internationally and has formed critically acclaimed
ensembles with musicians worldwide. He is the veteran guitarist for
many of Latin America’s best pop stars, including Ana Gabriel and
Ricardo Arjona, with whom he recently completed a 7-year tour.
Gil’s virtuosity on the nylon string guitar and tres is staggering, as he
is able to perform in a variety of styles as well as compose his own
works.
